If you recall, they stormed campus (peacefully for most part) and demanded change from the top. At this point, why can't we do the same about our administration?

And this just isn't about Billy or just one failure, but multiple failures spanning years. Thoughts?

They stormed the campus in 2017 if it’s the Schiano thing you are talking about? For that, they got Dooley
To the larger point, UT hasn’t won the SEC since 1998 and haven’t even won the East since 2007. Even this year, their best in 15 years, they won nothing. So I am not sure why they are a model we want to follow.

not saying this is an apples to apples situation, but it proved pressure can create change.

we need to lights a fire under this admin and replace our AD just for starters

Maybe I shouldn't ask this but since it's absolutely unclear to me what you're wanting, besides a "campus storming (peacefully for most part)" . . . if you had a magic pen and could write the change from the top and it be done, what all would you change?

I would appreciate folks allowing the OP to answer first since it's his/her thread. Thanks!

I guess I should have been a little more clear in my OP, but rallying the masses for a peaceful protest on campus demanding the removal of our AD would be instrumental in changing the course of this program. It's clear we have regressed under his watch and is hoping we just quietly go on our way.

The administration implemented major changes with the hiring of CBN. What else can they do now? It's up to CBN to build the program. It will be painful, but he has been given all the tools he needs to get it done.

OK . . . I'm sure others will jump in. I see SS's tenure already being tied pretty directly with Coach Napier's success. Until then, I don't think SS would be fired at this point for anything less than another scandalous situation happening on his watch.

I think a good argument could be made that maybe he wasn't proactive enough in his supervisory capacity for all programs but that may have quietly changed and we just don't need to know about it.

I actually like Billy and I don't hold him at fault for the recent failures. His hands are clearly tied and I feel bad for him

This has more to do with Strickland and Foley than anyone else. This goes back years with falling behind the times. Just poor leadership and poor decisions for the past decade.

The fans have the power, not the few in power

It's quite simple really. Have we improved since his arrival or consistently gotten worse? Time to go a new direction

Okay, against my better judgment, I'll play. How are Billy Napier's hands "clearly tied?" He's got a brand new state-of-the-art training facility, and more staff and budget than the Pentagon. I wish my hands were similarly tied.

Well for one, this NIL debacle. Millions of dollars that can't be met for top prospects. NIL company in shambles, needed roster attrition from last regime, etc. Is he totally excused? Nah, but a lot of this is out of his hands

Josh Heupel was hired by Tennessee less than 2 years ago.
Year 1 he went 7-6 and won a bowl game.
Year 2 he went 11-2 and led Tenn to their first #1 ranking since 1998.
They also beat Clemson convincingly in the Orange Bowl 31-14.
The difference is Heupel played QB for Oklahoma and knows the offense.
Even then he's smart enough to hire an OC to call plays so he can coach.
Oh by the way, Heupel played professionally for Miami and Green Bay.
That's what I call hiring a quality SEC coach who has the right pedigree.
Let's see where CBN is by the end of 2023.

Oh ffs Im so sick of you people riding all over Tennessee for their one season success.

How many times in history do we have to see this happen and the team sh*ts the bed the next season or the coach ends up sucking? (Malzahn - hell Muschamp, McElwain and Mullen all accidentally had a good season or two for us)

As bad as we were we almost beat them at their own f'n stadium. Just stop pimping every freakin team that does something better than we do just because it fits your stupid narrative for that argument.

UcheaT had a 30-year old 10th year QB and Florida had a first time (effectively) starter.
Clemson had their QB for the season announce his transfer before the bowl game.
Biggest apples to oranges difference is Pruitt recruited well for Heupel and Coach Napier had to use Mullen and friends' recruits.
Heck, with all that, Florida was a single play away from beating your UcheaT analogy THIS year.
I'll take head-to-head against UcheaT going forward and even counting this year.
