We’ve been throwing around the word “absurd” in reference to $13 million — but what’s the most absurd is this messed up system that’s designed to keep coaches in the dark.

I’m a lot more inclined to believe in conspiracy than coincidence — and the fact that this all started between Ruiz and Rashada leads me to suspect that Ruiz is behind all of what is happening in front of us. I imagine that bastard knows the ins and outs of this new cesspool better than anybody else, and look how easy it is now to interfere with another team that you hate obsessively

 

Not going to accuse Ruiz, as I do not have any details.

But this explanation is just as likely as any other one out there.

If the HC, UAA, and university have no control, and the NCAA has provided no oversight and no enforcement, ANYTHING is possible.

UF's name getting dragged through the mud in the national press reminds me of the Shizzshow that occurred at UT a few years ago with Coaches Schiano, Leach, and finally Coach Beldar who they ultimately hired.

 

If the NCAA wishes to continue existing, bringing back the transfer rule is the only way to stop this. Boosters aren’t gonna pay a guy riding the pine for a year.

Bottom line… associating football with education is outdated. The NFL needs to create its own minor league system.

 

A genuine question: He wants to be paid $$$$$ before he will enroll in school. How is this not inducement? It appears to be a classic case of it, imho.

 

That costs money. They have their development league, and it’s paid for by colleges and booster clubs.
