Taken in context, which I provided, the second post seems like a joke but you have twisted what @EbSaxman said.

The answer to this is a resounding yes. If you don't see how NIL and open transfers is killing college football, you are blind.
Even the pro leagues have system set in place to control free agency. There is no such thing here right now.

A few things I have been pondering about. First off, people are putting the blame on the wrong people. The blame for the ridiculousness of a 17 yr old making more than the NFL minimum is squarely on the NCAA’s shoulders. They were sued by Obanon how many years ago leading to discontinuation of NCAA football video games and such. The NCAA has a long ass time to figure this issue out. What did they do? They kept going with archaic rules and punishing schools for buying a 5 dollar cheeseburger for a recruit while allowing others to run amuck and flaunt it. How many pictures did we see of Alabama recruits driving nicer cars than I drive or kids posting ig pics with fist fulls of cash. My favorite, Tua. What family in their right minds would move from Hawaii to BFE Alabama. Now people want the government to insert themselves into NILs. Bad enough when the SCOTUS got involved. Politicians will make it worse and I can see their palms being greased in order to get what a certain school wants.

Of course if we’re not willing to play by the same rules as some of the others have been playing with for years, then stop firing coaches every 3 years. No coach is going to be successful in an environment where the school is not willing to get down and dirty like everyone else is.

Some may disagree with me and that’s cool. Just giving my opinion on a broken system.

What ever is going on, school's already started. Don't know when the drop dead date to enroll is but it's fast approaching.

Tomorrow, I'm pretty sure. The fact that this hasn't been resolved yet is telling, to me.

Sure hoping Walker Howard is in the hand and not in the bush.

I mean, they did have to vacate wins from two seasons and ended up on probation for 4 years, with a reduction of 30 scholarships.

Unless and until Title IX is repealed, this is a pipe dream. So it’ll happen approximately never.

NIL money isn’t athletic department money, and vice versa. I think the UAA model hurts us in this case. Where another school is supported, at least in part, by public funds, we’re entirely self-funded, making the entire athletic department very dependent on booster donations. There’s a not insignificant amount of money that is being donated to UAA rather than propping up an NIL collective because the department relies so much on donations.

This is the last year of the temporary lifting of the 25-man recruiting class size limit, so that expiring should help reduce some of the transfer portal madness.

And that's fine, if we as Gator fans are ok with becoming say... Minnesota or Iowa State. If we want to have the thrills of winning championships then we have to match their crazy and even then it takes the right coach and some luck.

What people are failing to see is that with NIL and the portal coming at almost the same time, the decisions and actions of schools, players, coaches, NCAA and fans over the next couple years is going to shape college football for the next 20-30 years. Maybe more. Everyone involved should be looking at the big picture instead of what this particular recruit is doing or what that coach did.

I am beginning to hate college football. What’s the point? The millionaire “students” aren’t going to risk even the potential of even more millions from the NFL by trying hard in college.

Exactly. I’m with you there. How much motivation to push hard and better themselves will millionaire 18-22 year olds have. The product put out on the field will be decreasing greatly in the near future I’m afraid.
