Another Site Claims Rashada requests NLI release from Florida (Denied By His Father)

What a major setback!!!

 

Concerned about Lagway with 5-6 win team next year possibly and other programs winning at high levels pressing him.

 

Very hard sell. Kids might want to get paid but they also want to win.

 

UAA had made its decision. We are an all sports school not a football power… This may just be one guy, it may just be an NIL mess, Napier may be able to work his way out of this… But the undercurrent perspective is that “Florida won’t pay kids, Florida lies, Florida, doesn’t care about young athletes, Florida isn’t willing to spend the money “Georgia, LSU, Tennessee, Alabama, Ohio State, Clemson… All of them are willing to play the game that we are not, and it’s going to spell doom for us as a football power there’s no doubt about it. The days of championships are over. We are who we are. I’m not putting all of this on the back of one recruit. This is 20 years of “not getting into the facilities, arms race, not paying kids, not spending the money on the staff and recruiting… This has been one thing after another. They made their choice. We have to live with 8-4 at best type programs, it’s like a return to my childhood. Spurrier and Meyer spiked the punch and we got drunk on our own stuff. This is sobering. We can make excuses all we want. Rationalize why NIL is bad, hope season is right around the corner and everyone will say “be patient “… but this is it for ‘chips.

 

The University, the UAA, and the Athletic Department are legally prohibited from securing NIL deals for players. Not sure why so many posters are framing this as Napier’s failure when he Florida law says he can’t participate.

 

I mentioned in another thread that if we don’t get this kid, we need to stop recruiting kids from California since we don’t have good luck with them.

What about just recruiting kids who grew up wanting to be Gators?

 

I agree, and should have clarified my statement with “recently”. Seems like all schools stopped fighting it after the Fields fiasco.

I wonder what is really going on behind the scenes. This might be the kid's father trying to deflect the shade away from their tactics, and redirect them onto the Gators.

 

I am disappointed Rashada has asked to be released from his LOI.
Between Miller and Mertz we will field a good QB this year and who knows, Max Brown or the PWO we have on board might come out of nowhere and be our next great QB. Seems to me Shane Matthews was buried on the depth chart when Spurrier arrived and he turned out pretty darn good.

 

The father could have put out the fire completely by saying that Jaden is coming to UF as planned. Instead he simply denied that he has requested out of his NLI (yet). I'm pretty sure I still smell smoke.

 

I think the odds of that are pretty high...if SOS was coaching them up!

 

He was 5th string if memory serves me...

 

If true, that would be incredibly sad.

 

Can the mods update this thread title to something generic like “Rashada situation” until something more concrete comes out?

Don't release him make him sit, I don't care what others think. If you start negotiating with terrorists they will start doing this regularly and trying to squeeze more.

We hold a recruit hostage and we might as well shut down football recruiting entirely.

 

They get a freebie anyway, so he won’t have to sit even if we hold up the process.

 

rashada's agent is probably putting the pressure on strickland and uf. maybe the agent told ss rashada wants out without mentioning to the family. that would be my guess
