Some details on U.S. computer chip technology is making its way into Russian missiles and drones. Apparently, U.S. companies sell the chips to Swiss companies to use in consumer products, and the Swiss companies sell them to distributors, who turn around and sell them to the Russians. American tech is helping guide Russia's explosive drones into Ukraine It seems like one of the companies involved in the production of the chips or components could suspend production for a few months to see what impact it would have on the Ukraine War. Or have the government buy up the chips and put them in storage for a while, and release them later. If drone hobbyists need to wait until the end of this war to get their toys, I am o.k. with that (although I'm sure there are probably some necessary uses). It would be interesting if Russia could be neutered this way. Either way, the U.S. and Switzerland shouldn't be providing technology for Russian missiles and drones. Just like the British shouldn't be providing the aircraft engines for the Iranian drones.
Russia is claiming its first kill of a HIMARS system in Ukraine . . . after five months of getting blasted by the system. The U.S. has not confirmed the kill. At this rate, Ukraine will be out of HIMARS systems in 6.5 years, or they would be, if 18 more systems were not on their way to Ukraine. I hope we can provide enough ammunition for the systems. Of course, Russia has made these claims before, usually after destroying a wooden mockup of the system used as a decoy. Will probably decrease dramatically since Germany committed to stop buying Russian oil & gas starting in December of 2022. I think other countries may have been buying from Germany, so as to claim that they were not buying from Russia. That was inflating the numbers significantly. Germany now has more oil/gas unloading facilities in their ports, so they can buy from other countries not named "Russia". What else would Europe want from Russia?
Russia has been destroying HIMARS on a regular basis. It’s just a truck. It’s going to be supremely embarrassing, for the US, when the Patriot is taken out the day after it’s set up.
