I painfully say we will either be 4th or 5th in the east. I think our losses will be uk, ut, lsu, uga and possibly usce. We bring just 1 starter back on the OL, our qb will be shaky with either Miller, Fred Mertz or an inexperienced Rashada. Then, I have little faith in our DC so 6-6 is possible or 5-7. Utah and sow will not be easy and at best a toss up.
If we do not hit a homerun in the portal, I will not be surprised at 5-7 or maybe even 4-8. Next season has the potential to be really ugly.
You think we're going to Lexington and both Columbia's with an inexperienced QB and beating all three teams? Stoops, Liam Coen and Devin Leary will outsmart our rookie DC's. Kentucky's defense will finish us off...again. Drinkabitz and Beamer will be brutal to beat on the road.
And if we get better than avg and oline play, we should have a decent shot at every other game besides Georgia.
It’s not that hard. Any decent team could do it. The question is, will we be decent. Yes we could lose them all.
Hard to say, we may have qb and oline’s that are very weak and a young defense that still has last year’s problems. We could be anywhere at this point. We have no idea who most of our starters will be , much less a two deep. I have no clue if we will struggle with Bandy or beat everyone but Georgia. It’s hard to have a legit opinion when you have no idea who is playing.
No clue where we are next year, no idea what we have or who we have. No idea how some of the mid pack teams will be (that's where we pick up the easier wins). As far as no divisions, HATE it East/West best way to do it. (you'll have teams with equal W/L and it will be a favorites game). 12 team playoffs will lessen the SEC IMHO HATE expansion it just makes a mess of things.
There should be only four conferences in the top tier and the champs of those should get the byes. Divisions , conference champions decided on the field. More bs is what we are about to get. We even have an sec champion if it’s not decided on the field.
Back to the good old days like in 1989 when there was a 3 way tie for the SEC Championship between Alabama,Auburn and Tennessee. It will take a whole lot of getting used to by SEC fans.
Yet even back then, the schedule was closer to even. With this many teams, strength of schedule will be very lopsided every year. One team may play four top ten teams while another doesn’t play any. The nfl makes teams play division rivals twice for a reason. Division winners go to the playoffs with no consideration to record. The reason they do that is to prevent exactly what the sec is creating, a freaking mess. It’s been close to perfect the way it’s been. Tennessee and Bama are not crying about not being given a shot, they got their shots on the field. I literally hate it.
This is getting to be like the old Southern Conference before 1933 that had 23 teams. I think eventually you could maybe see some teams leave the SEC for another smaller conference.
I’ve got us at 6-7 again, barely squeaking into a bowl game. However, we’ll be matched up against a 10-2 team that just missed getting into the playoff who decides to take it out on us in the bowl game.
