Thanks ETGator, I noticed that the "Post Bowl Game Thoughts on CBN" in Swamp Gas has turned into the same thing.

 

This is our highest blue chip ratio we've had in a long as I can remember. CBN also just got the commitment, with one signed, from 2 5* QB's. When was the last time Mullen did that?

That is the best part of this class. And I believe that we have more recruits on board by the time the late signing period is over.

I think that's counting the three transfers. I think we only have three summer enrollees in this class, though. That's awesome. We need some guys to hit the field right away, and, to do that we need to have them enrolled in January. I don't think I've ever seen this high of an EE percentage for a class at UF.

 

I saw posters mention it but not list this years avg rating (high school signees only) compared to Mullen. It goes like this:

Mullen’s classes:

2021. 90.51
2020. 90.74
2019. 90.56
2018. 90.75


Napiers 2023 class is the best avg rating since 2010 at Florida.

 

I'm beginning to think recruiting is really a program/administration problem for Florida.

Napier basically brought Louisiana recruiting out from the depths of Hell to number 1 in the conference, then he leaves they go back to being nothing on the trail. Every coach we've had since basically 2014 after the Urban Meyer/Tim Tebow aura around the program was completely gone has dramatically struggled recruiting compared to our competition.

 

Those classes are very misrepresented under Mullen. Where are those classes now, I’ve never seen so few ever contribute. He recruited too many that had big issues. This class seems much more solid.

 

Yet it does look that way if you don’t pay attention and have little to no knowledge.

 

This is the issue though....Mullen never capitalized in recruiting off his 2018 and 2019 seasons. Even if all of those kids he signed had made it to campus, the staff still failed to land immediate difference makers. Coming off off back to back 10 win seasons, he landed only TWO top 100 kids in the 2021 cycle and 7 top 200 kids.

The previous staff, not as a whole, but in general were lazy recruiters who went for low hanging fruit recruits. Look back at the 2021 class and ask yourself how many of those recruits were really being recruited by the the elite schools. Only Marshall and that was only Bama but everyone else were being recruited by 2nd and below tier schools

 

Not only that, they generally took positionless tweeners on D, which is why we didn’t really have any true DEs or LBs this year, but a bunch of pseudo edge rushers without any rush moves

 

Indeed which is why i kinnnnda wish we could have played more a traditional 4-3 this year but i know that's NOT easy to do. I hated seeing our DE's get mushed in our "3-4" all season long this past season lol

 

Right on, man. I have never seen so many tweeners at Florida. It was like they did it on purpose. I was startled when I got to see these guys up close.
