The Leach family released a statement on his passing Tuesday morning through the school: "Mike was a giving and attentive husband, father and grandfather. He was able to participate in organ donation at UMMC as a final act of charity. We are supported and uplifted by the outpouring of love and prayers from family, friends, Mississippi State University, the hospital staff, and football fans around the world. I can’t believe he was as young as he was. He was like 40 when he got the gig at Texas Tech. He always seemed older to me.

Yea this is a touchy topic as there was a lot of info out there that were all bad. We just needed the family to be involved in when to move forward. Prayers out to his family. This one is a hard pill to swallow.
