Tickets went on sale yesterday, let's have a good showing! My wife and I got center court seats, 10 rows up. Lots of tickets available, lower seats are available, but I thought that might be too low.
I don't like driving into downtown especially at night and on my own..I love my Gators...win or lose..
wont fault you for that, going down there in your own, but there will be plenty of folks around. Wouldn’t be taking my wife if I thought it wasn’t safe.
Is Tampa one of the host sites for the first two rounds of the NCAAT this year? Kind of odd if they are not to be hosting a one day event. If they are a host seems like a wasted opportunity for the Gators this year if they miss the tourney.
don’t think so, they’d need to be at worst a 4 seed to h as be such a nearby location. They punish low seeds by sending them across country. Tampa is hosting the Frozen 4. Tickets are expensive.
Tampa hosted the SECt last year. I had not been to the city in a long a time. One of the nights, we went went down town. What a mistake! Through we range in height from 6’2-6’7 …. we knew this wasn’t where we should be! We called Uber… several cancellations. Finally- a guy picks us up, and says……”what the hell are you guys doing here?”. Apparently, it has gotten bad enough that even drivers stay away.
I guess I have not made myself clear..it's not all about safety ..I don't want to drive at night by myself downtown and attend a game by myself...it's not fun for me..
Something tells me you made a wrong turn and ended up north of DT, or near Ybor. I'm not sure what part of DT/Channelside would cause your group to feel that way. I'm not calling you a liar, just curious as to where you might have been.
Yeah, hopefully when Gas Worx is built it will help clean the surrounding area up. Maybe a new Rays stadium, too??? But, I do not like the city allowing the current Ybor to be a poor man's Boubon St. Tampa should encourage growth in that area which is focused on it's historic value. Ok, I'm done. Sorry for the off topic rant.
