IMHO religion has no place in a public school campus. Having said that I’m delighted that all religious groups are given a voice even if one of the clubs is areligious and is gleefully pointing it out. Currently there is no actual church idf Satan club on campus (which I applaud) but in the interests of inclusivity those in favor of Christian clubs should have no problem. I’ll leave it here . just having a little fun.
Scotus didnt green light it man. They allowed something that had long existed to continue. The Constitution "green lighted" it. And your ignorance of religion is so painfully clear. How do science and religion not coexist? Do they not teach science in these schools?
Thankfully the constitution protects us from your humble opinion. There is no legal reason to remove the right to free expresion and exercise from a PUBLIC school campus. What you are asking for is quite the opposite. Perhaps China would be a better fit for you?
So it's a Satan club that has nothing to do with Satan. They just call it that because they hate Christians. They sound like wonderful people that will do great things with the children they mentor.
This Supreme Court’s interpretation of those Constitutional passages did, and their logic and analysis is suspect, to be charitable
I've always been confused at "Satanic" groups that are secular. I'm not sure if it's satire or if they feel if the club sounds religious in nature they will get treated on par with other religious groups. Or, since they view the Bible as a mere story, Satan is the character that represents humanism and the Christian God was the one trying to prevent Adam and Eve from consuming the fruit of knowledge. I do know we had such a group here that requested to give a prayer at City Council and was allowed to do so since Christians were allowed same. Many people were sincerely upset about it and there was a lot of fear about them inviting demons into our city.
Was literally going to say this as a response to the post above yours. This is just a troll job from some pretty intolerant folks
Prayer and Christian gatherings existed long before this alleged green lighting. You guys are trying too hard. It is in no way suspect for SCOTUS to find that the constitution allows such voluntary meetings on public property. Again. Want a total secularization of public society? Go to China.
Your command of history prior to this case is my point. Scotus did not "greenlight" something that had always existed. They affirmed it. The light was already green. They refused to turn it red at the whim of the religious bigots who do not value the free exercise of ones faith.
Was going to start a new thread on this, saw this one ... it appears Satan Club is really taking off and spreading to new states and school districts... Winning suits in the states that try to stop them under the same laws that protect Christan on campus clubs... Hail Satan! https://thehill.com/homenews/educat...n-clubs-gain-popularity-amid-legal-victories/
Well, at least we can stop asking why people don't want to pour more money into the public school system (at least in these areas). Go GATORS! ,WESGATORS
How could we have public anything is people dont want to give money unless they agree with all aspects of how its run and what results of free association within?
Great book, they were more like rock stars than most rock stars, or at least Ira was. He was smashing mandolins when the Who were in diapers.
The name is clearly antagonistic. I don't believe you don't recognize the problem with that. Nothing public should mock another's religion. If the name were Nazi-ish (but still did good things), would you have a problem with that - or are there literally no lines to be drawn in your view? Go GATORS! ,WESGATORS
