Gouriage losing snaps to Barber or Tarquin. Can’t remember which one but our two tackles have been 70 and 58 a lot.

im thinking they are slowly preparing next years OL, this year. Barber and Tarquin as book ends and all you have to do is replace Torrence with hopefully Weighs or Leonard

Really impressed with staff. Oline looks great and chaos has the D-line on fire which I expected from the get go.

They are all going to have great recruits to work with next year and experienced players to help teach them.

Since Tarquin came back from injury they have had a 3 man rotation to keep everybody fresh....Barber has gotten the fewest snaps of the 3 in most games including the last 2 weeks.
They do the same at guard with Leonard the third guy

Maybe, but like @bobbybaker86 said prepping for next year and honestly RG hasn’t progressed as much as we’d like I think. RG should play in league but I think Barber has earned his snaps.

Did you guys interpret RG’s comments as he may use his 6th year elsewhere?

Why was Burney not announced on senior day?

Not an NFL scout, merely a long, long-time Gator fan & alumnus. Anyway, I am not down on RG and am also appreciative of his contributions to UF. My point about Richard is that he has split time this season as one of 3 primary Offensive Tackles, and during his UF career, has even started at OG, as well. I don't anticipate that he would improve that much more, or increase his draft stock significantly, by another year in Orange & Blue. But, yeah, I was very happy when he chose to come to Gainesville.

The kissing mamas and bro hugs. The pomp and tears. That swan song at The Swamp. All this sentimental Senior Day stuff feels so last year for Amari Burney.

Because that’s when he went through Senior Day ceremonies the first time.

On the day the Gators beat Florida State to close out the 2021 regular season, Burney was among 27 seniors who walked out to pregame introductions. Burney didn’t feel as reflective as some players and didn’t get dewy-eyed.

“No, because I knew I was going to be back,” he said.

Burney had discussed options with his parents and coaches and decided to make use of his additional COVID-19 year. The senior had decided to become a senior again.

“It was in my best interest to come back for another year,” he said, and it turned out to be in the best interest of Florida’s new staff also. Fans might have shrugged when they heard Burney was returning, might have viewed him as a temporary placeholder for the unit’s younger linebackers. But there was no shrugging off his game-salvaging interception that turned back Utah at the goal line.

Burney leads the Gators with four sacks, ranks third in tackles for loss (six) and quarterback hurries (four), and played a role in five takeaways for a defense that, despite its myriad flaws, has generated the second-most turnovers in the SEC.

Envision those flaws without Burney’s steadying influence.

He isn’t the only defensive player getting a Senior Day do-over this week when South Carolina closes out the 2022 home schedule. Fellow linebacker Ventrell Miller and safety Trey Dean are saying their football farewells to Ben Hill Griffin Stadium — for real this time, having exhausted their extra year of eligibility.

But now that we’ve redefined Senior Day, who among this week’s honorees might be returning in 2023? Some potentially big news emerged Wednesday night when fifth-year left tackle Richard Gouraige confided “there’s a high chance” he’ll stay for a sixth college season.
