How are we going to fix linebacker?

Maybe go roster shopping like Lincoln Riley

 

Unfortunately Shemar James and Ventrell miller are our only “true” linebackers. One is a true freshman and the other has limitations in pass defense. Otherwise we have a bunch of physically talented converted rush ends that had never played linebacker before coming to Florida. And even then they were poorly coached. I’ve got faith that BN is working on a flip or two but trying to keep it quiet after the AJ Harris and Dijon Johnson debacles.. this isn’t a quick fix. It’s going to take time to turn the roster over

 

Portal and recruiting because we dont have many TRUE LB’s on the roster. Bunch of tweeners or converted players

 

The only way to fix it is to recruit actual LBs. This roster is full of talented projects and none of them are ready to play.

 

We really need a Henry tootoo or whatever type of transfer.

 

losing Hopper has shown to be a TREMENDOUS loss

 

2024 we have a great LB commit. You would think James getting early playing time as a true freshman would entice some kids. Will likely need to pick up some transfers. Kansas had over 40 transfers to change their roster for the new coach.

 

And he is playing well for Mizzou. Apparently best athlete on the team.
