I would be surprised if China wouldn't be willing to smuggle some chips over the border for the right price. Even if the Chinese gov't can be persuaded not to export them, some "businessmen" would be more than willing to make a deal happen. Remember, the reason that all of the car dealer parking lots are empty in the U.S. is because Chinese investors have been hoarding computer chips from Chinese factories to increase the prices and profits on the chips (in addition to Covid and energy shutdowns of the factories).
Russia is making more money selling less oil because of the sanctions. The extra cash Russia is making is paying for their military operations in Ukraine. I predicted on Twitter from the get-go that the sanctions would hurt the West more than Russia. I said from the get-go the sanctions would be bullish for the ruble. I said June 9 on Twitter there was a 50/50 chance Boris Johnson would he gone before August and I speculated Olaf Scholz would be next (because of the sanctions and Ukraine war). Winter is coming and Europe will be buying lots of Russian energy. Leaders that don't go along with this will be ousted. India, China ant the Global south will be buying lots of Russian oil. Where sanctions hurt Russia is in areas where they can't buy parts to manufacture airplanes or whatever. Russia will be forced to become more self-sufficient which will make it stronger.
Uh huh. Continues to not address why Russia needs 137,000 more raw conscripts when it is on the cusp of victory. That’s okay. If I was part of the Ministry of Truth there, then I, too, would minimize the implications of that call-up, assure the Russian people that it was not a step closer to general mobilization (or general war), strategically leave out information that suggested these conscripts will come from minority groups and remote villages to the max extent possible to mitigate the chances of popular uprising, and change the subject as quickly as possible.
The NYTimes story about "raw conscripts" was completely bogus. There are 85 federal subjects in Russia and months ago Putin told their governors to organize battalions of former soldiers who are no longer active reservists. I've confirmed this with British intel (MI 6) and a friend of mine who works in the Kremlin. My friend Dima has an outstanding youtube channel called Military Summary. He debunks the fake news NYTimes story beginning a little after 21:45 in this video:
Fine. You’re bringing in 137,000 crack, experienced troops who were not on the books before. Totally passes the smell test. But I ask again: What do you need them for, since you’re “winning”? Do you not understand what a big deal it would be if the U.S. President casually announced he needed 137,000 more troops drawn from the civilian population … but, don’t worry, we’re winning the minor sideshow “special military operation”?
We should have an Insider Board for Too Hot like we do for paying customers of GC. You seem to have very highly placed sources in MI6, Iceland and the British government. Thanks for breaking the news about the Russian victories that western news sources won’t report on, even as they seem to freely travel through Ukraine. It is always good to share intel here.
Submarine makes a helluva ruskie propagandist. Hey Sub, according to the Putin camp the Skis would be welcomed with flowers and bottles of vodka at start of the offensive, I'm just curious why the great ski offensive has accomplished nothing and now appears to be in retreat having just lost 4 more towns. Any talk of taking on NATO is a complete joke conventionally, you guys can't even ship canned goods to the troops without giving them botulism..... lmao
Seems that Russian troops are now cut off from resupply and escape unless they are good swimmers. Damn shame that Ukraine is having to destroy it's own infrastructure to effectively defeat Russian aggression Ukraine Reports Strike of Key Antonovsky Bridge in Kherson: 'Final Chord' (msn.com) A bridge used by occupying Russian forces in Ukraine's embattled Kherson region has sustained heavy damage in a strike described as the "final chord" by a Ukrainian official. Kherson Regional Council member Serhiy Khlan suggested in a Facebook post on Tuesday that the strike on Antonovsky Bridge, also known as the Antonivka Road Bridge, in Ukraine's southern Kherson region, could eliminate any chances of the Russian military using it for strategic purposes. The bridge, which crosses the Dnieper river, has been used by Russia as a key transportation route for military equipment and supplies in the region.
Submarine say, “Kherson is great second example of glorious deception operation to lull Nazis into false sense of security and convince them to destroy own infrastructure. When deception operation is complete, Russians will complete liberation of Kherson and bask in parade of grateful people, happy to return to loving arms of Mother Russia. All praise to Marshal Putin.”
I think you have to reference MI-6 and your friends in the Kremlin to be a successful quote of Submarine. "According to my people in charge of special operations in MI-6 and the CIA, and confirmed by my associates in the Kremlin, Kherson is the great second example of a glorious deception operation to lull Nazis into false sense of security and convince them to destroy own infrastructure. When the deception operation is complete, Russians will complete the liberation of Kherson and bask in a parade of grateful people, happy to return to loving arms of Mother Russia. All praise to Marshal Putin." Long story short: "We've got 'em right where we want 'em."
Russia's 'Thinly Held' Defenses Wrecked by Ukraine Counter-Offensive: U.K. (msn.com) Ukraine's counter-offensive in occupied Kherson is wrecking Russia's "thinly held" defenses in the region that was seized by Moscow in the early stages of the war, the U.K. Ministry of Defense recently said. ............................................................................ The British defense ministry said in an intelligence update Wednesday that Ukrainian armored forces have continued to assault Russian troops on several axes across the south of the country since Monday. "Ukrainian formations have pushed the front line back some distance in places, exploiting relatively thinly held Russian defences," the ministry said. The British defense ministry said Tuesday that Russian forces are likely "under-manned" in Kherson, amid growing attacks by Ukraine on key bridges in the region. Ukraine has been using the Washington-supplied HIMARS weapons to carry out successful strikes. "Most of the units around Kherson are likely under-manned and are reliant upon fragile supply lines by ferry and pontoon bridges across the Dnipro," it said.
