Barco was never going to drop lower than the 2nd round and there were several other pitchers drafted last night that missed all or part of this past season due to Tommy John surgery.

Tommy John doesn’t (and actually hasn’t for several years) raise a red flag with MLB clubs as it did several years ago.

I still think someone is going to draft sproat and offer him under his number but over slot. Today will be super interesting

Still don’t understand Met’s drafting Vandy pitching star Rocker at 10 last year and then not signing due to medical issues. Losing top pitching prospect and wasting high draft pick like that is tough to overcome. Does not bode well for Met’s future. Crazy that Vandy pitching staff (Rocker and Leiter) will both be on same team now.

They got a compensatory pick this year for it so it isn’t a complete loss. Also time will tell on Rocker’s long term health.

I think he will be a good pro. Maybe just a closer if he can’t get a plus changeup but his breaking ball and fastball are excellent and should both play at the MLB level.

You would think that this would be the easiest pitch to master, but it isn't.

As we have been discussing, it actually takes the most work/duplication to master, at least IMHO.
