That tells me they have verbal from Link. Or just dont like printing regionals on the schedule every single year. Expecting more is delusional in this sport IMO.
Hard to imagine that simply hiring the son of the guy who was around forever without conducting any kind of legitimate search didn't work out for FSU. What a completely unpredictable development.
Just guessing, but probably moving on Jarrett before someone else (Clemson) gets him. If so that's a smart, ruthless move by them.
Notre Dame Baseball: Link Jarrett contract got an extension - One Foot Down Lofty buyout? Double+ salary cost? Would be impressed if they were able to pull that off. Go GATORS! ,WESGATORS
well , like I said,,deserve to miss next 44 straight then. Probably do anyways, giving only 2 years. Successful years at that. Maybe they will go after Butch, he deserves another raise at AU.
Notre Dame and FSU aren't the equals in baseball that they are in other sports. Notre Dame didn't get to host this year because nobody will play them non-conference. He's got that program at it's ceiling. If FSU wants him and he wants to go, I doubt money will be an issue.
As much as I hate F$U and as much fun as I make of the Lord of No Rings and Meat, he deserved more time. 2020 was ruined by covid. He couldn’t get a season in for almost 24 months after being hired. And he made the postseason twice and battled. Hole baseball fans always want to pretend they are a top program but without a NC they are nothing. 5 years and counting that the Gators were crowned in Omaha and their jealousy is leading to knew-jerk decisions.
Have a friend on the FSU staff and was hoping this wouldn’t happen but things moved quickly this week. UF and Miami have fallen back a bit and Jarrett is prime for even a bigger job than ND so the time was right.
This is all about getting their guy. So why not get him after Sr left? Is he that much better 3 years later.?
