Men's first round today. Miami edged USF 4-3 in the first match. Gators just getting underway in doubles vs New Orleans. Shouldn't be too much trouble.
Andrade loses his first set 2-6 to a guy that's 10-9 on the season vs so so comp Siimar finally breaks serve to go 6-4 in his first Everyone else cruising mid second sets. Should he over soon
Shocking Andrade dropped a set, but otherwise bagels and breadsticks galore. Vale, Riffice and Goodger give the Gators the expected easy 4-0 win.
Women win a fairly tight doubles point 2-!...not impressive Decent start early in singles for Kessler and Dudney
Dudney, Kessler, and Dahlstrom dominate their matches for the sweep Zein had lost her first set, Shelton and Briggs were in tight matches
Men vs Miami in 2nd round Solid in doubles, win the point comfortably Slow start in singles, all matches on serve mid first set...except Siimar who is down a break
Same 4 guys that cruised yesterday claim first sets. Shelton 7-5, Sam 6-3, vale 6-3, goodger 6-4 Andrade and Siimar in tougher matches again today. Andy at 5-5 and Siimar at 4-5
Riffice first to the finish line Vale and Goodger one game away Shelton down 0-4 in 2nd set Andrade 7-5 2-2 Siimar loses first 5-7...not great singles play from him so far. Usually coach mixes up guys in the first 2 rounds, little surprised Greif and Shelbayh and Bonetto got no singles work
Yeah, Siimar and perhaps Andrade don't seem in top form. How quickly things change from early season where the top 3 were struggling. Seems Bryan is sticking with the top 6 for the postseason run, though it's quite a luxury to have multiple options available who can easily slide in with a good chance to win at 6 if needed. Overall nice, quick 4-0 win though. Honestly thought Miami might give us a little tougher match than that.
Yeah, appears he might stick with the grads at 5 and 6, but you have to think about Grief or Bonetto if he struggles again. Shelbayh may have the most talent, but doubt they go with that inexperience
Singles play tight early vs FSU. Split the first sets 3 each. Briggs not going in singles for whatever reason makes the bottom half of the lineup much more competitive...
Spotty start in first set singles Kessler up 6-5 Zein wins her first Dudney beaten badly, but up a break in 2nd Dahlstrom wins first Shelton down 5-6 Berlin beaten solidly in first Not a great start
3 first sets for uf, 3 for fsu Dahlstrom cruising, great weekend for her Dudney is way up in her second, so should be a third
4-1 win....Shelton beaten badly at 5 the big concern. Rough season for her Dudney followed her first set loss with 6-0 6-0 Unlikely to be competitive in the next round, but I guess there's always a chance
Sweet sixteen is the new final four for UF women’s tennis. but I think we beat FSU three times s year? So that’s fun.
