Totally agree. it's time to shed the label or having the best talent, but choking it at the end. I love gymnastics. Been watching since Ernie Weaver was coach. Jenny can recruit...probably recruiter better teams than even Faehn. But Faehn's teams knew how to get it done, while Jenny's have limped to the finish line in recent year. It's time for her and the team to take the next step and show that all of that talent can keep it together and win it. As noted previously, hopefully today's issues are out of their system.
I liked the streaming on ESPN. Different channel for each event so you can just camp on the Gators as they went through their rotations.
Megan Skaggs is the best in college gymnastics at starting each rotation. She was 3rd in all-around just behind Suni Lee. Happy to see the announcers give her the credit she deserves in the leadoff position. I'm still waiting on Savannah Schoenherr to get back to normal. I think she is getting a little too hyped up rather than performing within herself to get her best performance. Insofar as the meet is concerned, last night is most likely a wakeup call to start fast and stay strong on Saturday. Michigan? A major flop at the worst time, see LSU. Oklahoma showed out best in the semifinal. I'm not sure they have more in their tank to give while UF has much more to give. The final will be interesting for sure. It's anybody's meet to win.
I agree on Skaggs. Imagine the scores she could have gotten if she were going later in the lineup. However, she's a great team player. Her scores leading off give the rest of the team a very nice starting point. She's a huge reason we've been so successful this year. I also agree on Savannah. I very much like the olympic rotation, but not sure it works best for this team. The nerves and hype seems to get to a couple of them on the vault. Maybe it's better to not start on vault for us. As an aside, I am super excited that the great Maria Anz followed me on twitter yesterday!!!!
i do not understand that if a gymnast falls off the beam,or goes out of bounds on the floor the coach is at fault. this is not like other sports where you can directly have a role in what the other team does. all she can do is put them in position to perform, after that it is up to the athlete.
