i think he has 4. i feel like his youngest, maybe youngest two …. are late high school, but I’m not sure. I know they were part of the move to Dayton.
“Kids”… probably not the right word! Lol!

I'm not sure either... I just know I meet his family around 20 years ago and he definitely had 2 or 3 kids

    he has 4.
And they ARE all old now! Lol! So that reasoning is a non-factor… though I’m not sure if they are local to Dayton.
I just think he is happy and has a good thing going, at a place he knows and loves. He also knows the Florida job, and I just don’t think he would make that move.
I’m speculating on his mindset, but he won’t be the hire.

If we can't get Rich Pitino....I know old and whatnot but just give us 5 good years....please.

I really enjoyed the Murray State vs San Francisco game last night coached by Matt Mahon and Todd Golden respectively.

Offense/Defense this was one of the best coached and played games I've watched in quite some time.

I know Mahon's name has been mentioned and with good reason.

No it is not. Coaching is NOT the same as playing. The demographic make up shouldn’t be compared.

That being said why is there not a push to get other races into basketball? Somehow that’s okay for one industry to have a disproportionate amount of one race relative to their population percent, but not another?

Im not proposing that, just pointing out the hypocrisy of leaning on meritocracy when it suits your agenda and then race when it suits that same agenda.

I’m meritocracy 100%. I don’t care if all coaches are white, black, green, or whatever. Schools are incentivized to hire in their best interest, coaches are incentivized to recruit in their best interest so it can and should be a true meritocracy

Yeah, I saw a post that the Mike Miller shot in Winston Salem was 22 years ago yesterday. Seems like yesterday

Anthony Grant has the resume, history with our program and ties to the State, specifically South Florida. That is enough, on it’s own merits, that make him a viable candidate to be considered. He, at the very least, deserves an interview. His being African American should not be be viewed as being about “diversity”. I’m not thrilled with his record at Tx, but I thought he was on to something at Bama, then things seemed to unravel. A real bonus, to me, is the time he spent with Billy in the NBA. The man has , at a minimum, a very solid resume. If he is considered, and there’s been no indications that he’s even interested, I hope no one starts that kind of conversation. It won’t be, “he’s a diversity hire”, it will be because he came in with the best plan for the program.

I think of him, more than any of Billy’s other coaches, and being a part of the Donovan tree, based on their time together. He know the landscape here, that can’t be understated.

He sucked at Bammer when the SEC was down and has been so-so at Dayton, that makes him a long shot at being a qualified coach at UF. He did well at VCU, which landed him at Bammer and had one great year at Dayton, but the rest were in the "MEH" category. That's not what we're looking for.

The Anthony Grant stuff had to be based on nostalgia.
Love the guy for what he did while at UF - but anyone else on the planet that had already failed at a high major wouldn’t even be in any type of discussion here.

Another budget hire that doesn't really move the needle for me. His resume looks a lot like Mike White round two
