It would normally be getting ready to open soon, Moscow is 8 hours ahead of NYC.

I'm sticking with my position of a Russian population uprising. Military are already declining orders from Moscow. Not allowing persons/companies to trade on the stock exchange. Bank runs en masse. Rouble capitulating like never before. Might not take that long before Putin's head is on a platter. Video from members in the Duma who were obviously caught off guard by Putin's shift towards total invasion. Ukrainians have to hold their ground until this happens. I believe it will.

Don't need to fire a shot when you can put any country into financial ruin.

Hopefully this will be a lesson learned for future war hawks.

dude, the Russian backed side violated that agreement too in numerous ways. It was dead in 2015, and it wasn’t just the west or Ukraine. And that’s after he meddled in Ukraine the first time in violation of intentional law. There are countless ways to approach this that don’t involve invading a sovereign country or threatening nuclear war.
and oh by the way look around for polls on eastern Ukraine joining Russia, not one has ever said they want to. So his whole premise is BS anyway.
As far as NATO, Ukraine is a sovereign country and if they want to align with other countries that’s their business. If Mexico willingly aligned with Moscow we wouldn’t invade or threaten to nuke them, especially before UN talks, negotiations, sanctions etc… any comparisons to what’s happening now are just silly.
Putin wants his empire back. I suppose all these transgressions were somehow justified?
He’s just a bully who will take what he can, but sadly miscalculated this time.

It boggles my mind that you think Putin was forced into anything. He made a choice. A choice that will have severe consequences for a lot of people. He doesn't need people like you making excuses for him.

Try again. Their are multiple posts of the timeline and history concerning NATO encroachment and resolution 2022. You might want to go back and review. As for nukes that depends on how NATO and the US react. If it goes nuclear you can bet your bottom dollar that a host of nations that have nukes will not hesitate to use them on all sides of the spectrum.

As for sanctions and trying to cause economic ruin that is not going to stop Putin and Putin is not going to back down. Talk now is Belarus will join the fray. What remains to be determined is what the talks will produce this AM.

We have two options escalate as we are currently doing and Putin will do the same or get a seat at the table for a diplomatic resolution. If escalation continues things will only get worse on all sides of the spectrum. If you believe we will come out of this unscathed I would reconsider that thought.

Yes he made a choice the only one the world would listen to. That shouldn't boggle your mind at all.

Some people are simply hellbent on defending the worst people. I’ll never understand it.

Who said I was defending Putin. I certainly didn't claim that at all. I stated why he is acting out as he is. The war has started and we know why it started. I have also offered my thoughts on what comes next if we continue down this path.

If the US and NATO want to welcome Ukraine into the NATO fold, good for them. Putin doesn't get to start a war over it. Ukraine is not some Russian entity no matter how strained he's been in trying to make it appear as such.

This entire line of reasoning treats Putin like he's some cornered victim in which he had no choice but to invade. That's simply wrong.

NATO wasn't trying to invade Russia. He made a choice to invade a neighbor unprovoked because he believes he's entitled to control of that country. Don't make excuses for it. Putin wasn't backed into a corner. He walked over to that corner, plopped down, and chose to sit there voluntarily.

So let NATO build bases and put weapons pointed at Russia from the Ukraine and every other NATO allianced nation? We've been down this road already yet it doesn't sink in does it.

And we know what he based that decision on. You cannot avoid that rational or the actions taken by UN Security Council.
