I'm confused by the meaning of your last sentence. You are so disappointed by gator bball that you can't see why people like me thought the Gators could win and want them to win and don't chit on them every game? Continue your negativity by all means. I believe I do understand fans like you. I just support them no matter how down they are. It's called being a fan. I've certainly been disappointed too. Don't know why you implied that I haven't.
No one is downing the players. But many are expressing their doubt that Mike White can elevate us to a top 25 team, much less a top 10 team which is what Floria should aim for. He gets paid millions. He is not immune from criticism and being supportive of the program doesn’t mean accepting the results regardless of what they are.
That’s because it fits. I know posts like that get old - but so do the results. For years we have great wins followed by bad losses. White’s teams are consistently inconsistent.
So if we finish 1-2 the “good fan” just sits there and hopes for the best in Tampa? I don’t buy that.
But we get it. So we lost so its time for you to bring out your mantra about Mike White? One thing I know - some Gator fans are not the kind of folks I'd want to be around. Is it possible we just played a hot talented team? No, not for your kind. But so glad you're actually happy when gators win.
I thought we played well today, Arky probably is the better team with more talent (similar to Auburn). But that is problematic in itself. It feels like even at home, it takes our best shot AND some hot shooting just to hang around with multiple teams in the SEC (we aren’t talking about loaded UK teams here, we are talking about good not great teams). Can’t ask for much more out of Castleton. Our back-court just isn’t competitive with the top of the league, even with Appleby having a fairly productive game shooting, the overall guard play mismatch really killed us in this one - especially in crunch time.
Just got back from the game. Gave up way too many offensive rebounds where we were in good position to get them and they led to easy baskets for Arky. That was the real difference maker in the game. The first two fouls on Castleton looked like clean blocks to me. Disappointing loss when we could have won this.
Texas Southern was really hot when we played them. So was Texas A&M. Why are some so willing to accept abject mediocrity?
Yep. Not long ago I remember Jimmy Dykes every single home game he called saying “you better watch out, Florida will jump on you in this building. You blink and you’re out of it.” Not true anymore.
Well sure. I know these posters sit back and stew after a win like Saturday and then slither out after a loss - no matter what really happened on the court. It gets old and disgusting but that only means I'm happy with not the gators not being a bball blue blood.
But I was disappointed by those losses. Stop thinking that you're special that you're disappointed by everything.
A blue blood??? 90% of those that are frustrated just want to be a top 25 team more often than not. I honestly cannot believe that is now a lofty expectation.
I think if we don't beat UK and win two games in the tournament, our at-large hopes are pretty much done. 2-8 against Q1, 5-10 against Q1/2, and the TSU loss... we don't have close to an at-large resume right now.
The issue is not losing to a hot team. It's turnovers in the last couple of minutes of contested games. Did it versus Auburn and managed to win anyway. Did it tonight in last half minute. That's not ALL on coaching. But a lot of it is.
Why do you think your premise is true? That I'm not disappointed. I mean I'm not going to crap on the team every time that they lose but that's your shtick.
