No, health protocols. He should be good for NCAA's, but this team is really deep so hopefully others will step up and get the 10th championship in a row.
good to hear. thought i saw his times were not " A " cut, will he have to swim a last chance meet, or are there so few " A " cuts he is good?
"A" cuts just mean automatic, but very few kids have them so not a big deal. NCAA's is based on rankings and even without swimming this week, Bobby still will have some of the fastest times so he will be there no problem.
how many individuals and how many relay teams do they take? looks like the sec lets everyone who wants to swim, swim.
At SEC Champs, each team can bring 22 athletes - swimmers & divers. A team like UF is very deep and all the kids have a chance to score points by getting to finals, where other teams have some really good swimmers but not enough depth to add up. Each SEC team can enter one relay in each event and they can put whoever they want on them. You don't need a qualifying time to swim at that event. But for NCAA's, only those swimmers - and relays- with the best times are invited, so some teams have more athletes competing than other teams and the deeper your team the better chance you have to win. For example, last year Texas had more qualifiers than they were allowed to bring so they "cut" some guys who had the times to go, which was a huge reason why they won last year because all of the guys they brought scored points. UF had great swims (individual and relay) but we didn't have enough depth to compete. This year the team is much deeper so hopefully we have more kids qualify and give us a chance at a title.
Can we disguise Caeleb and have him swim five or six events for us? Or maybe this can be his covid year of eligibility?
