Eh....couple players and a sleazy coach away from flipping the script though. I thought fsu was stuck in mediocrity during the Meyer years and then Jimbo and jameis came along. This time its worse but they have enough of a name now that one or two decent years can springboard a program. But I hope they continue to rot.
Btw did anyone see Hunters signing video? This kid went from die hard fsu fan to throwing their hat off stage. I mean I'm happy it happened to fsu but thats a pretty crappy move in my opinion. Much prefer how James handled his commitment.

In order to get into the CFP from the Power 5 you need at least 40-45 blue chip players minimum to get there. Most will also need good QB play to leverage. There were 16 teams this year that had the possibility to compete. FSU will have around 25 blue chip players next year. Their roster is way off and they aren't adding talent as fast as its leaving. They need at least 2 top 3 seasons to catch up. One player can help a team but in a power 5 conference will not carry a team without the surrounding talent all the way to the CFP. Bobby Bowden (after year 1) never had a losing season even when he was slipping. Today's program has 4 in a row. He still consistently recruited elite blue-chip talent to the end. When Jimbo took over he became a great recruiter and hit on some elite offensive guys like Jameis & Devonta Freeman & Dalvin to go along with a defense full of future NFL stars. That is not what talent evaluators say when they look at any aspect of the current Nole roster.
and the issue with them is that they’ve missed on every QB since Winston left FSU. They’ve been bad at QB since 2016. Jordan Travis is as average as it comes but gets propped up more than he should due to how bad previous QB’s have been
Point is they need about 20 more blue chippers AND a good QB just to get into contention. That is difficult from here.
