Apparently they had a really poor week at practice

I don't understand how a team can have bad practices after their first loss of the season. That's when you come out pissed and ready for blood. Not, "Oh well, we lost, let's see what happens today."

It is mind blowing. We beat Ohio St and they turn around and beat Duke. We get our first loss and then lay an egg

That is both really disheartening and concerning. If anything… I thought this team would compete every single night. I hope this is a complete aberration, but I never expected this from this group of players.

When I saw the 2nd back door cut for a layup is when I knew the first six games were fool’s gold. I fell for it and thought there was reason to have hopes for an entertaining season of Florida basketball. Gone was the tenacity, the good ball movement, fast pace. Back was the crappy offense, mind numbing defensive lapses, and no corrections made at halftime. White can’t handle success, each time he seems to have it in his grasp he manages to screw it up somehow. It’s funny and sad all at the same time.

They looked like a team that hadn't practiced at all.

The first 6 games, all we heard about was what a great job Mike was doing with these transfers and how they were solid players. He finally had the team he wanted. Now that we’re losing, how soon are we going to start blaming these same guys? I guess we can’t blame AN or Locke, so who will be selected this year? Only time will tell.

Welcome back! I wondered who was posing as you the past weeks. Just kidding! Sadly, I agree, though not without some astonishment at how they can go from a determined team to what we saw in the last game.

They are solid players, and I think he has the team he wants. The team is not without flaw, but I still think it’s a Sweet 16 level squad.

I hope you’re right. Maybe we’ll see a renewed intensity from here on out. I hope so.

How many times did Texas Southern get an easy offensive rebound and put back after CC tried in vain to block a shot? I saw that a number of times. Contesting shots like that put him in no position to rebound a miss. Could Texas Southern have done that on purpose?

I really thought we were up until last night, but unfortunately losing last night makes that a little harder as seeding does matter. A 7 through 10 seed makes getting to the sweet 16 harder. Have to make sure there are no more slip ups to bad teams, beat Maryland and have a strong SEC run. Can White make some adjustments and expand the bench? Those are all big ifs but it starts tomorrow night.

any seeding projections are really premature.
Florida has tons of games left to get a great seed or not one at all.

Simple answer.... bad coaching. They even made CC look bad, and that is hard to do.

Yep. Not sure why MW is having him put up bricks on his 3 point attempts.

I hope you are correct, my Gator Brother. I think I'm probably #2 on this board as a Mike White sunshine supporter, only behind you. But if we struggle to get into the tourney and then lose the first weekend again, I will no longer be able to defend and support MW, now in his 7th season.

He should have this figured out by now. God, I hope and pray that he has. However, last night's performance was a dud, and I solely blame him for not having our guys ready. The guys had bad practices leading up to the TexSo debacle? Well guess what, Mike, it is your job to make sure they have good practices and play with a sense of urgency.

No more excuses for Mike White. He has to get it done this season. After 6 seasons, the time for on-the-job training is over. Gotta be consistent and win this year, or this year will be his last. imho

Part of having guys come back ... and part of coaching, in general... involves giving players opportunity to improve various aspects of their games.
CC is a much better shooter than he has shown, and was told he needed to expand that part of his game. Part of Florida’s 5-out sets are to allow him to do so.
That said- when futility begins to hurt the team, the experiment should end.

I think there is a difference between making predictions ... which is part of sorts talk -and- and suggesting a December loss has Florida looking at an 8 or 9 seed.
