Joke will be on you guys when TXSO goes undefeated for the rest of the year and win the national championship. Ok maybe not, but they are at least getting to the Final Four.
Thanks. 21 is a good number if you are playing blackjack! I was wondering how many 100,000s of games have been played and we ended up on the wrong end of a top 20 upset. That's impressive!
Great, I thought these negative all-time records being broken were confined to the football program, but I guess it's a new Gator tradition. I was hoping MW turned the corner and finally put together his best team but it looks like the 1st 6 games were an anomaly and we are back to doing what we do best.
Well for those that say this happens to the best teams, name the last time this happened? 1936 to be exact was the last time a SWAC program beat a ranked SEC program. Watching my Insider's page and they say this will hurt us later in the season if we are on the bubble. Either we turn this around and win most of our games and not even be on the bubble or this game maybe the game that keeps us out of the tournament.
On the bright side, this is probably not the worst loss in the history of college basketball against the spread. That honor appears to belong to Kentucky against Gardner Webb in 2007. Kentucky lost by 16 in a game in which they were 26 1/2 point favorites. Good company there. Billy G Kentucky.
Well, don't turn on any sports shows for the next 24 hours. It wasn't that we lost at the buzzer, we were dominated by an 0-7 high school team.
A 16 seed is a team that WON a minor conf. We got blown out by possibly the worst team in such a minor conf
To be fair, Texas Southern is likely one of the best SWAC teams. But there is a reason why winning the SWAC is pretty much an automatic trip to Dayton these days.
What really doesn’t matter is people like you making excuses for a loss that’s inexcusable. There is no defending this loss. Not one reason other than they weren’t motivated and there were no adjustments made to address that all game long.
College Basketball World Reacts To Shocking Monday Night Upset (msn.com) So serious underdogs beat heavily favored teams all the time? The last time this happened, it was 1980. That's before 50% of this board was alive. For those pumping up Texas Southern, the game before ours, Louisiana Tech beat them by 27. But at least Texas Southern got a nice paycheck for beating the crap out of us. I hear there are more 0-something teams wanting to get paid to do the same. The new NET rankings had Texas Southern ranked at 273rd. We were ranked 22nd.
