Florida WBB is a complete dumpster fire. Should finish last in the SEC with the interim HC. I seriously doubt Stricklin finds his Lon Kruger to resurrect the program. I guess you can try to lure Becky Hammon again since it appears the NBA still isn't interested with all the openings they had this summer.

if we keep the girls we have now we are a top 6 team in the league. No way we should finish last, if we lose Lav we turn into a top 10 team in league..anymore losses of players we will be bottom 4. Dont get it twisted though there is a lot of talent right now on this team. Cant promise they will all be here though for the season. Kelly Rae is a good coach, very good recruiter.

Hard for me to believe a team with those same players that finished by losing in an SEC play-in game will now jump to top 6 with an interim coach.

yeah, again I will try to break it down for people...we kept basically everyone, we had our top player coming back from an injury which help lead to us losing our last 4 games. We didnt play Vandy last year at all so that was 2 wins that was taken from us. We added a 5 star transfer, we added the La player of the year. We added the Florida player of the year and her twin sister...added a top 10 recruit from Europe. Most other teams lost top players..oh and we get a healthy return of our best freshman last year who came on campus recovering from knee surgery. But its whatever

I admire the faith, but we still don't have the bigs to compete in the SEC night in and night out.

We got more athletic in the post with the twins, I like Floor, but no we are not going to be dominant in the post but we dont need to be. There are going to be very few teams who can match us from the 1 to the 4 and we have better depth this year if all players stay. Again the preface is if the women buy in and all stay. If Lav really leaves along with anyone else. Then we will be avg at best. Lav is that important to us this year.

    Yes, but......

Female coaches of female teams have done just as many horrible things to their players, including verbal, physical, and sometimes sexual abuse.

MaChelle Joseph was much worse, Marlene Stollings, the woman that was at Oregon state before the little guy. Coach Joseph was moderately successful ar GT and had several players sing her praises..but when like 30 players came forward about alleged abuses, including one former player who was very good claiming she was kicked off the team for rebuffing the coaches sexual advances on a road trip. NCAA has plenty of predators on the womens side in positions of power..male and female.

If Lavender is really leaving, we might as well go ahead and say that Kiki is leaving as well. There is not way a returning senior would stay on this roster without her duo buddy and bestfriend.

It's just really ridiculous, everytime we take a step or two forward we end up taking them backward. The progress that the WBB program do have later turn into "What-ifs" and growth being stunted. It seems like every off-season It's issues, the WBB always gives the impression that it's building and turning things around, then the unexpected happens. I like many hope Lavender Briggs stay, we all have seen and probably lost count of potential "special teams" that came through the program only to never materialized. I think the AD needs to target and get high profile coaches like some have mentioned.... Smesko or Hamon, anyone with an instant impact.

Hammon is the home run hire if you can get her. We know she was interested prior... pay her what she wants and get it done!

    Bernice Mosby
    Sydney Moss
    Elleana Christinaki
    Delicia Washington
    Simone Westbrook
    Lavender Briggs
The Peck hire that was suppose to be a grand slam turning into a mess...

Just never ends. I would really like to see this program break out. Honestly, there is 0 reason for our lack of success.

Wild thing is, everyone saw all the details of the cuse thing and they took forever to act. They posted pics of him running a practice like 4 days ago. He had no intention of resigning..Q seemed very arrogant and confident that he wasn't going anywhere.

I imagine they are going to hire felisha Leggett jack that has to be a given.

A little surprised we haven't had an investigation here. Felisha would seem the logical choice for them. I don't see Syracuse going the interim route.

Because cam saw that what he did was holding the program back and knew that it was time to step aside. And there's def levels to this. Coach hillsman is deliberately abusive and toxic.

Cam Newbauer was hard to deal with because he was out-of his depth.. Quentin is literally just an awful person. And QH did NOT leave syracuse willingly despite what is printed. He had no intention of stepping down. He is a narcissist. Cam is just a guy in a bad place. Cam has been known to make personal verbal attacks, which is ineffective and combined with lack of success, grounds for firing. QH is a creep whose many numerous discretions range from what that tweet above details to from what I understand unwanted comments and advances.

Hard to imagine Cam doing things like that, but you never know someone behind closed doors. My concern going forward is if it was that bad, Kelly has been a part of that staff for almost 5 years... what has been reported and/or done prior to his resignation? Was Cam forced to resign or did he do so to save the university and himself some bad publicity? It all just seems like it tried to get quietly swept under the rug. There have been players unhappy with his treatment obviously (Kinslow, Johnson). I would still like to know how some of the longer term players who got significant minutes view Cam. Timing would suggest Lavender didn't seem too happy he resigned or was forced out. Butler faced some similar accusations when Holt left the program early in her tenure. Hillsman at Syracuse... the times have caught up to coaching styles. What use to pass (inappropriately) doesn't fly anymore. I really, really hope Kelly pulls it off. I can't help but wonder what went on behind the scenes and if Striklin doesn't think it might be best to start over. A lot probably depends on who knew what and when. If this has been going on since Day 1 of the Cam era, too many have turned a blind eye and it's not a good look. I am sure the story will eventually come to more light as the year progresses. Kelly and/or the players holding it together is a huge win in what could have been a nasty situation. Syracuse lost basically a whole roster by comparison. Our best case is that it was not a historical pattern, it got fixed swiftly, the team stayed together, and Kelly is succesful. Worst case is it has been ongoing, we have some issues this season, a wholesale change is made, and we lose a recruiting class and some transfers. Hopefully it is the best case scenario.

Kelly is 1-0 atm in my book. Getting Lavender back and holding all the players scores her a major point. She seems very likable, and I know she is well thought of as an up and coming coach. As long as she is in the clear in terms of what ever it is that happened, then she has the keys to have a succesful inaugural season. The job is hers to lose at this point. Can't imagine anyone else being hired if we get to the NCAA this year, and we should. Her next move will be filling out the staff. I've said it before... with only an interim position it is probably going to have to be someone who isn't on an active coaching staff. I really hope she gives Melanie Balcomb a call. She is a great offensive coach that would compliment her defensive focus and really fit well with the players we have on roster.

Well latasha and shayanne have decided they aren't going to syracuse. Too bad we are in the same mess now
