Violent thugs and hooligans brutally attack police officers in D.C.

My own mother is doing this by linking a sarcastic tweet from Nov. 10th.

 

Yep. Treat is just like any other crime where someone is killed in the process. Charge them all if you can ID them.

 

Its incredible.

 

For over 200 years we have managed a peaceful transition of power - Tories to Whigs, Democrat to Republican, Republican to Democrat. The peaceful transition of power was something that we bragged about - that made America and Americans unique. One of the things that made us proud to be Americans. America is great because we always have a peaceful transition of power. Until today. No more. Somehow this asshat got elected and this is one more American ideal he has broken, one more American norm he has violated. He is an utterly despicable person and the worst president ever. He deserves to be repudiated, villified, and held up as a horrible example of a President for the rest of however long our experiment in Democracy lasts.

Well, we had an actual civil war somewhere in there too. So there was that.

 

Once they tried storming the building, I’m actually surprised the whole thing wasn’t pushed back by more people getting shot. But I guess their security isn’t really set up that way. Maybe there should be a rapid response team. You’d think with the maniac Trump basically promising something like this, then inciting it, you’d think there would have been crazy amounts of additional security. Instead you basically had mall cops trying to push back a mob: 1 vs 20.

Was the woman trying to get to the speaker shot by capitol police or secret service? Who the heck thought that would end well? Some of those Trump people are literally insane...

I saw that the cops in the Capitol mostly don't have guns, except the secret service. There is video of a group of Trump supporting terrorists chancing a cop up stairs and appears he only has a billy club.

 

When you’ve lost Tom Cotton. Apparently people no longer like the cow they bought.

Most of the people were in there taking selfies and looting some of Pelosi's stuff to sell on ebay later. I guess that's a 21st century revolution. Sad that that lady got shot but overall the total effect of this thing was maybe a one day delay in the vote.

 

When Palin is now the voice of reason in the GOP..LOL!!

 

I sure hope Pence has the nuclear football now. We can't even begin to think of all the ways that maniac could mess up the world in the next two weeks.

 

And the dead person. And the US standing in the world being further diminished. And the dead person. And the norms of a peaceful transfer of power eroding. And the dead person.

But it definitely isn’t as bad as the civil war. You had that part right.
