I'm arguably biased, but anyone else bummed at the missing ncaa game that would have been coming out in a week.
Yeah, sucks that we'll never get a next gen version. What EA should do is release a version of Madden that allows you to create your own leagues, plays, unis, teams, etc with a PC interface and store it all in the cloud somewhere. That way you have the engine and all and the community collectively can basically create NCAA on their own as happened with rosters for years.
I've talked about this concept with a friend of mine that has a small dev team. It would lack the NFL licenses and be totally open (configurable rule sets, teams) with importable configurations. That would take the onus of license violations off the hands of the game creator. The problem is, of course, recreating a quality football game from scratch. It also would not be very profitable on consoles, so it would find a home in the Steam world. They are doing a prototype as part of their 2015 slate.
Yeah... I was one of those fools that bought the game every year the day it came out. I've bought it every year since Danny was on the cover. The void this will create will have to be filled with social life and real accomplishments, I guess...
PC gamers have been feeling this way since the turn of the century. I still have my copy of NCAA 1999 for the PC - even back then you could download rosters to match the players' numbers.
Bringing this thread back to life. It’s been five years, today, that we’ve been w/o this game. Ridiculous. I read that EA wants to pay athletes for their likeness, but the NCAA said no. So only the NCAA can profit off the players. How ‘NCAA Football’ lives on and what might happen next
I bought this game annually. I do miss it. With that said I would have been so frustrated the last few years playing, but I'd have changed QB's after the first game.
New NCAA endorsement policy still disallows NCAA Football video game ^ This is a misleading headline. I think we're getting movement here... 22?
I can give you some good news here... The designer that used to do NCAA rosters was an FSU fan, and is not at EA anymore. Sadly I think the new lead designer is Mich St fan, but they can't be perfect.
