I support socially distancing the elderly and those with health issues. We've gone over this. Not sure if you are purposely trying to be annoying or just not thinking clearly. So again, you were called out for making an outright LIE. But hey, keep on making shit up, I'm sure some here will believe it.

 

How does one do that? Can you provide a specific piece of legislation or executive order that you back? So you support socially distancing about 1/3 of the country then? How do we do that? Who feeds them? Who provides them medical care? How do they pay their bills when they can't work due to having medical issues? You know, things actual policies might address...

You criticized policies meant to increase social distancing as ineffective at stopping cases. So provide the policies that have been proposed, in specific, that would be successful at preventing cases.

 

Easy, My mom is in a nursing home. They eat dinner in their rooms(not downstairs in a common area), keep visits to a minimum to lower the risk of infection.

Pay bills? How do all the restaurant owners and workers who don't have a job anymore pay bills? Come on dude. Man up and say "my bad". What a load of BS. Keep digging that whole deeper...

 

But wait, if not eating in proximity wasn't successful at stopping the spread in restaurants, why would it be in a nursing home? You are arguing that the mechanism of increasing social distancing was a failure at stopping the spread, and then advocating the same mechanism for others?

We have a variety of systems to help workers pay bills. Unemployment for those that just lost their jobs, for example. We also have a variety of relief bills proposed. That also has nothing to do with the question I asked and is an obvious deflection to avoid answering the question (which is what you do when you don't want to answer the question).

Now, provide an actual policy passed by the government that increases social distancing that you supported or man up and say "my bad, I don't support a single actual policy."

 

Keep throwing shit against the wall, it will stick soon. I supported what Florida did to lockdown nursing homes in March. So you lose. AGAIN. How many times can someone take a L in a row? Think you are going for the record. I think for the elderly(who are astronomically more likely to have serious issues with Covid) as opposed to the general population, there for sure should be different rules and protocols. Just like with who should take the vaccine. My mom is in the highest risk group so she should for sure take it as the risk of complications from the vaccine aren't as great as the risk of getting Covid are. For myself and my children, we don't have that risk and won't be getting the vaccine until there is ample evidence that there are no adverse side effects. This isn't hard to understand. Elderly have Social Security to get them thru these times and access to unemployment as well.

 

So just to put it onto the record, is stopping communal dining a way that you can slow the spread of the disease, yes or no?

 

I can't understand why they hate working class people so much.

 

Most people just discuss deaths, see it less than 1%, and see, nothing to worry about. Of course, there are those that survive COVID, and have severe, long-term effects. Here's a story about the Head of White House Security, that had to have part of his leg amputated after a 3-month long, COVID induced, hospital stay. He's also racked up tens of thousands in medical bills he needs to pay, and raised $35,000 in a Go-Fund-Me. Why anyone should have to do that to live is beyond me, but we can discuss this in a why our healthcare payment system needs to change thread, and not in this one.

Whatever you need to tell yourself to avoid that you just don't want to answer. But don't try to act like your feelings are hurt so bad that you can't answer. You just don't want to and are trying to look for an excuse.

I knew a guy who almost lost his leg for scraping it on a barnacle. We don't close the water.

Anecdotal things will sadly exist. But for the overwhelming populace this is not a lingering issue. I fall in the middle on some of this. I support masks, but it needs to be enforced. An enforced mask and distance order allows opening.
It also protects the more vulnerable.

I agree. What kind of soulless group would put that many people at risk of a deadly disease that also results on long term problems for many by refusing to support simple things like masks to cut down on the risk.

 

There is distorted info on both sides and you just choose your “science”. Just wait until they change the PCR levels and overnight the Covid numbers drop in half. Science!!!

 

Doesn’t this seem like a baseless theory when death counts are higher than they’ve ever been?
