Thank you Ray and God Bless you! Been with Gator Country from the beginning and ever before. My dad was a gator of the 50’s and took me to my first game in the 60’s. Graduated in winter 81 and still love kicking some bulldog ass!
Oh, I am watching Notre Dame play. They don’t social distance the same way we do. Oops. They won. Now they are mobbing the field. Really good show. I say we charge them triple the going rate. Oh, now some have pulled their masks off. Wow, now they are getting naked. That is some serious school spirit right there.
True story! Bought my first computer in 1996. My friend was a computer programmer at CFCC and he helped me buy it and set it up. He asked me what I wanted to search for first and I said put in gators and gatorcountry.com is the first thing that popped up! Been hooked ever since!
I am in the same issue. I remember Gus and Gatornet, but don’t the year. Moved from Altamonte Springs to Tallahassee, then Gainesville, the Tioga (near by). Always stayed a member. liked the shirt. Time to another, polo style!
Maybe @solari could give us a timeline. When I joined GC was independent and then I think I remember an affiliation with Scout, and I'm sure there was an affiliation with ESPN before GC went independent again.
Sometime in the mid to late 90's. Dial up modem connection. I remember Swampie, the MuNkEe, Hollywood Bob, Franz and many others. Been some good times...and they're returning. Go Gators!!! Beat the Hawgs!!!
96 when I was an Army advisor in Saudi Arabia. I started as Saudi Gator. At merger someone else had that name so I used my kids initials and birth years. Dial up was an adventure. Came over from the Rumor Mill.
I am 79 and joined when Hollywood Bob was writing on the site. I think I joined in 2004 but have been a Gator fan since Spurrier was chucking the ball. Franz was also writing for the site.
I don't know when I joined Gatorcountry but I used to log into Ray's BBS in Gainesville starting in 1992. Ray used to run a BBS in the Sarasota, Florida area and when I got to Gainesville, he had is BBS running Fidonet where I could email my high school buddy at Auburn. Had to connect via a phone line and I think I had a 28.8K Supramodem at the time. Good times! Burch
Gatorgary, wish you would post more often. I looked forward to your "Perspectives" and even copied a couple into word and saved them. I understand why you stopped them, but want you to know I sincerely appreciated your time and insight. Thanks!
found it in early 96 by chance I remember when we grew so large that Ray had to find a new host and moved us to Scout- then out on our own- lot's of posers out there
