OT: 2020 Tampa Bay Lightning/Tampa Bay Rays Playoffs Thread

Holy Moly!!! That was not only one of the greatest World Series games ever played, it was one of the greatest GAMES, period!!! YOW!!!!!

This Rays team is one that any fan that loves HEART in a baseball team has to love! All of us Rays fans can be so proud of every one of these guys!

That was one of the best games I've ever seen. Just wow.

If that finish doesn’f deflate the Dodgers and rallies the Rays, they stood no chance to win the Series.

Absolutely ridiculous finish. It takes 27 outs to win a baseball game. You just never know. That was one of the best for the history books.

Best drama since a one legged Kirk Gibson hit a walkoff homer

 

Brett Phillips, the kid who hit the single to score KK and Randy and end the game, grew up in Pinellas County as a Rays fan. The nerds in the front office just traded for him at the end of August. That was one of the craziest games ever!

 

There are some great online write-ups of the game this morning. I just read a poetic phrase from Jeff Passan on ESPN:

"...this game is bound to go down in the annals as one of the most memorable in the 116 World Series that have been played...this was a righteous ballgame, an emotional vise, squeezing tighter and tighter until the whole thing was too much and burst in spectacular fashion."

 

Surprise flyover out of MacDill immediately after the game would have topped off the evening perfectly.

Rays have to win tonight. I believe they can take 1 out of 2. I don’t think they can win 2 straight.

I understand why he called that, they went from 2 on nobody out to 2 on 2 out, probably felt a steal of home was the only way they were getting a run.

Rays had their chances, winning 2 in a row now will be seriously tough.
