Interesting. It seems that this is more about what is controllable and what is inevitable. If the number was 50% less, does 80K people = $2T? In other words, “it is what it is”?

I would imagine not too many respondents to that poll have any clue what the original estimated deaths were, nor would they have a definitive number that is acceptable.
That poll only reaffirms the hyper partisanship in our country and that the response to this pandemic by the current administration has been inadequate, even to many Republicans.

I mean...no more than buying groceries.

My son starts flag football next month. They have been shut down for 7 months.
Our area has done very well, and they chose next month s a good time to start back.

They have to open some things in areas where it is safer. It is terribly unhealthy for kids to be stuck inside and isolated for 6 months.

This president is truly sad. In the middle of a pandemic, he is declaring a PR war against the very scientists and experts who need to safely guide us through each step of the process. I have never disliked a politician more and been more embarrassed to be an American that I am after reading this person's tweets. He is truly a disgrace in my opinion.

For those who cannot read the tweet:

Don't forget the death panels. They were very much against Obama's death panels.

My whole life I've thought we were a good country. Not perfect, but generally trying to improve and be better. Generally trying to do the right thing. I don't feel that way anymore. Hopefully that will change and I will be proud to be an American again.

When I see his approval rating &/or % who plan to vote for him, I can't believe it does not start with a decimal point.

It was not me. That's a reasonable response, IMO.

Here is the anxiously awaited Monday update from World o meter as of 8 am EDT. I include the testing numbers on Monday as well. There were over 5.3 million tests done last week and the overall positive test % dropped from 7.76% last week to 7.60% this week. There were 13 states that had a decrease in the number of active cases since Friday. Usually, Tuesday is the best day for that stat. There were 15 states with 1-6 deaths over the last 3 days and just Vermont reported 0 deaths over that time frame. 0 8-24-1.JPG

The death rate per reported case is very slowly dropping.
