All the wolf packs in the park have at least one member that is collared so the rangers usually know where the packs are. Ranger I spoke with said they all chose to locate their dens well away from the park road this year so didn't see any wolves this year so I'll go into my archives and throw this pic up. It was a really bad day to do the bus tour, rainy and cold and bus windows were fogged up on the inside and muddied up on the outside. Scenery wasn't good, wildlife sightings were nil until we were almost back to gate when this guy walked out and walked down the road by himself right past the bus. Best wolf picture I have

I live down in Durango and we got the high school sports notice. I coach middle school volleyball and they are having a meeting Friday to see if our season will happen. Did you here the whole state is going online for school? Our district community meetings are happening Thursday and Friday and as of now we are still on for in-person school.

I'm in Conifer and haven't heard about the whole state going remote. Our district is still face-to-face two days a week starting mid september.

Sorry about your season. That sucks for you and your girls. My daughter plays softball, and even though we're on so far, I know it's just a matter of time. .

Glad to hear your daughter gets to play softball, as of now at least. I woke up to the news that our district is pushing school back a week and they will require all students K-12 to wear masks. The requirement was previously for 4th and up to wear them. My daughter will be starting kindergarten this year and we’ve been working with her wearing the mask and she’s been going to day camp where they’re required so she used to the idea of wearing one all day.

Lovely pics! Good job at least you captured a good one at the end! Love the grey/black/blue colors. I'm a big 'wolf reintroduction guy" turns out they are GREAT for the environment, just ask the rangers!

yeah, I think the sports is a statewide thing. Classes might be a district thing. Might as well as were also going to have the 2 days a week sked.

Two of the last three days now deaths will be down from the previous week. We may have passed the peak, we will see over the coming days.

Back to Resurrection Bay outside of Seward. First pic was from one angle, second pic was when boat moved gave us a different angle. The look on the face in the first picture still makes me laugh

    guess it was breeding season...:)

sea otters are my wife's favorite critter. there might be happier animals out there but these guys have to be in top 3. Russia only decided to sell Alaska when they thought they had effectively depleted the beaver and otter population. Was surprised how many sea otters we saw in California when we were there a few years back
