Miller is leaving coaching. It’s a grind and a ton of time away from a young family.

 

Especially for a guy with tons of money to go enjoy them with. He has a SR and SO in HS that Im sure he will enjoy being able to see play.

 

Gosh, where have I heard that before? Sorry, but Urban forever ruined that excuse. There is, no doubt, more to this story. I've heard he didn't get along with Penny. He's also been part of well-run programs (both college and pro) and recognizes a sinking ship when he see's one. He wanted out before his good rep took a hit. Maybe it's as simple as family time, but I think more than likely he'll enjoy his family time until a better opportunity comes along. Either way, Mike White needs to be going hard after his son, Mason, for the 21 class.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Mike Miller is leaving Memphis coach Penny Hardaway’s staff after two seasons, saying he needs to spend more time with his family.

Miller announced his decision Wednesday on social media.

“As much as I’ve loved this job and had a blast being part of the special program Coach is building, the past few months have made me realize that it’s time for me to spend more time focused on family and wherever the journey will take me next,” Miller wrote. “I will find a way to stay in basketball and continue to make an impact on this city that I love so much!”
