    Twinkle twinkle little star
    Gator gals have come so far
    Amanda, Kelly, they’ve grown a lot
    Now they’ve surely earned their spot

    Two games assured but nothing more
    No guarantees, you know the score
    No buona fortuna, no wish good luck
    No certainty, no deal is struck

    Some Gator voices never cease
    They seek no closure, no earnest peace
    Their claims are fair and mostly true
    But surely smack of deja vu

    Through it all we’ve heard so clear
    Our pitching staff might suk next year
    Our hitting lack we deign opine
    Too far below Mendoza’s line

    A hitting coach, no man this time
    A woman’s touch is so sublime
    Shortcoming lists just seem so long
    Did all forget we’ve been so strong?

    An earnest wish through seasons end
    Why don’t we start a brand new trend
    To listen, to post with tranquil grace
    This Gator quest, their final race.

    KB, Amanda, and the valiant rest
    We know for sure, they’ve done their best
    But if the games lead not to fame
    Temptations grow, which one to blame?

    When cheap advice flows fast and free
    And anger grows so easily
    This tone I hope you will embrace
    Just sit onna you hands, and shutta you face!

    I, on the other hand, have not been honored ....AT ANY TIME.

    Take a bow! That was a thing of beauty. Special kudos for working in the Mendoza Line...line.

    A little trivia: Mario Mendoza actually made it into the Mexican pro baseball Hall of Fame after leaving MLB to play in his home league. Also, he’s from Chihuahua, one of the most fun words to pronounce with a proper Spanish accent.

    Another masterpiece, Steve. I am convinced you somehow missed your true calling--wordsmith par excellence. It is fine to be a Walmart greeter("welcome to Walmart--now buy you shit and get out of here"), a horse poop handler, but damn man, you truly need to concentrate on putting words of all kinds in their proper order so as to amuse, enlighten, and educate the masses. Keep up the good work--we want MOAR.

    D..the Mendoza line popped into my head when I was considering doing my silly poem..with a message.
    When I got that, I knew I should do it. Took 15 minutes, not too bad. Thx for the kind words.

    Some of us have been calling it the Sipos line in fun. Wouldn't trade her defensive prowess at 3rd. She has had a fabulous season, and only a freshman. The Sipos line will rise.

    Stevo and SOS are often confused for each other. Same tall athletic grace. Each walks into a room and totally commands it. Others gravitate to their natural leadership qualities. Each is recognized for their wit and humor.

    But, there the comparison ends. I know Stevo. Stevo is a friend of mine. And SOS is no STEVO. :rolleyes:
