Not a gamer but was thinking of getting a switch. anyone here have any experience? I like that it's mobile and connects to the TV, but no nothing else about it.
You can play Mario cart! Most of my friends kids have them. Seems like a giant step up from a gameboy.
Hmm I do love the drunken Mario Kart-a-thons we used to have after we closed at the University Ave Miami Subs
I'm a PC player but never been a BF fan, always played COD. With the switch from Steam this COD event I'm considering BF5 as well.
I used to play a lot of these titles back in the day. Started playing video games in the late 70's. Over the decades I've owned many consoles and platforms. But I just can't get into retro gaming anymore unless its Metal Slug. The COD and Battlefield games have always been my mainstays on the PS platform. Same goes for any EA Tiger Woods Golf. All time though and true addiction, is the Gran Turismo series. I still play GT Sport daily on my PS4. I'm old school and use the DualShock controller instead of a wheel/pedal set up. If I want wheel/pedals, I get in my car. Even using the PS4 DualShock controller, I can post times on GT Sport that rank in the upper percintile. Its amazing how far gaming has come.
Never really liked the BF series, but have not played the last few versions. PUBG was the last game I got into, but have not played much of anything for a while. I used to play a lot of ARMA mods for less twitchy shooter games. Otherwise I just sort of randomly get into different titles like Xplane, KSP, Kingdom Come Deliverance and some air combat sims years ago. I was sort of excited about Star Citizen a few years back because it was supposed to be a space combat sim and FPS, but it's going to take years to finish and they expanded the scope beyond all recognition. Right now I am hating the flight model too and it's pretty clunky as an FPS.
Nice. When I tried PUBG for the first time, it was pretty broken and I moved on. It was pretty new, so im sure the devs have fixed a lot of it. I've heard good things about ARMA, but have never played. I also heard Squad was good, as well as Sandstorm Insurgency and World War 3. I still only play BFV. Thinking about getting a Super Nintendo, though.
PUBG is fun, but frustrating for a lot of people and the popularity is waning. A lot get pissed when you spend 10 minutes getting looted up and then get shot in the face and it's back to the lobby to do it all over again. Or others want instant action and get pissed that the perfect gun isn't always waiting for them wherever they land and they die from trying to take on an AK 47 guy with a Winchester. I play it once in a while with friends, but not as much as I used to. ARMA is great because of all the mods and playstyles, but it's not a great game out of the box and you have to mod it to get the most out of it. It was an ARMA mod that started zombie games like DayZ and even PUBG was from a mod called Battle Royale (which was probably taken from the movie). I used to like a mod called King of the Hill where three teams fight it out in a city and get points for having the most guys in town at any given time. They also have groups that do military simulation exercises (milsim) where they fight a buttload of ai using tactics and stuff. It's fun once in a while, but not really my thing to do when I want to unwind and pretend I am shooting at particular people I don't like.
