Let's not get too excessive. Yes, it's very nice to beat FSU and solidly after such a long time, however, you may recall that following the Missou game, and after falling behind so far to the pathetic South Carolina team, many were quite negative on these boards. The Gator Standard, depending on what one means by that, is not Back, but it appears closer to being back that it has been for a long while, and usually, it's in a Coach's 2nd year that the effects of the change are most noticeable (not with SOS, but most of the time).
Mullen's on his way to restoring Gator Football.. He's done one heck of a job in his first year, and i don't see anything but improvement. Thanks, Coach Mullen!
I thought the same thing... Mac's first season was definitely better... albeit by a hair... But... Mullen's first season brings much more comfort and optimism going into years two and three and it isn't even close... I was very concerned going into 2016 in spite of our successful 2015 season... same with 2017... I feel extremely comfortable that we will be a good football team next season.... I didn't quite see enough with Mac in 2015 in spite of the successful year (because of the talent he inherited paired with the significant drop in recruiting)... I've seen enough with Mullen and I love what I see... Sign me up for another 12 years with Mullen please...
Yep. Gator football had stopped being fun. Now it's fun again. And these guys are just now getting the hang of Dan's spread offense.
In Mac’s first year, we won because of a great Defense. Our offense was poor with exception of Ole Miss game when Nuss was OC
This is a reply to Macs 1st season compared to Dans: Mac was left with an NFL studded D with a QB that was bound for Heisman seasons, that was also playing against the weakest SECe in decades. It was fools gold. Dan took a depleted roster on D, a hugely maligned QB and OL, added some great pieces via recruiting and transfers and had a monster season. Unfortunately for Dan... Smart/Georgia had a head start, and Luck exposed the defencies on D. I bet this game solidified a huge recruiting class that'll help put Florida firmly in the drivers seat of the East for years to come though. The future is BRIGHT!!
