Ummmm. #1 -who offers or signs posts dated contract? AND b) wouldn’t that void his UCLA deal, if he was already already under contract to UF?
IF, this was true wouldn’t UF have standing to sue Kelly? When Billie D changed his mind the Magic let him out but with stipulations.
This sounds like total horseshit. I'm no contract specialist but once you sign, that's it. The post dated crap would just dictate when the contract goes into effect (like say, nest Tuesday rather than today) but is does not mean you can back out of it in the mean time. Even the propaganda coming out of the UAA is weak.
Idiotic. They could have called his bluff with that 10-day addendum non-sense. Have these people ever negotiated before?
If true, then SS got played worse than I thought. Big fish or not, you gotta insist that the contract if signed is effective immediately. If that means he doesn’t sign, then so be it. At least then you have a full week back to continue leads elsewhere. That provision was a hail mary for Chip and ultimately a foolish move setting us up where we find ourselves now... at the back of the line. How many opportunities opened up at key schools while the process with CK dragged out? Unbelievable.
Negative. Language could be phrased that contract is null/void if signer opts out within a specific timeframe (I assume that is what the 10 day point means). Anyone asking for this either A. Doesn't want the job and is simply leveraging your final offer and B is using you for bait and switch purposes.
Stuff starting to leak now. No shock. Chip played UF. Sadly I don't think Frost is coming either... buckle up people!
If Stricklin agreed to such an insane clause, then he should be fired by Monday. This would be moronic beyond belief.
