WKU was dogshit when he took them over, like worst FBS program bad, he had them winning 7 games in 3 years. Skip Holtz left USF in disarray after the Leavitt years and Taggart had them at 10 wins by the time his first class graduated. The guy knows how to turn programs around. As for Oregon, he's down to a walk-on at QB. They were 4-1 before Herbert (and the backup) got hurt. Also remember that it's still Helfrich's team.
Well, by that math we are seasons away from our turnaround. I'm just not impressed but that's just me.
I remember Saban had recruiting turned around his first class and the team made huge strides second season saban was there. I can't believe it but I've more than moved on from Kelly. But we are discussing a scenario that would give us Taggart, Oregon possibly Kelly. I think Oregon would take that deal.
what i mean by ceo coach is that he doesn't have any real coaching chops as a coordinator. just a used car salesman who says the right things. plenty of those to choose from and get on staff. he even got demoted from co-oc at wku. given the title of "AHC" and basically just recruited. some people try to sell taggart off as the third harbaugh brother, but he's not remotely close to being the coach either of those guys are. i don't want some "motivational speaker" who should be writing self-help books and is reliant on having very good coordinators to win games. all taggart has ever done is out recruit his competition and fall into some excellent coordinators. pass big time on taggart.
Well, that's not our choice. At least UCLA would feel our pain. Saban still went 7-6 his first year at Bama. We'll see what Taggart does in his second year (if he doesn't leave).
LOL..to people who think I gain by garnering paid memberships. Mods are not on the payroll. We are voluntary.
He isn't my first choice, but Taggert is 10 times better than Zook at both coaching and recruiting. Taggert at UF would have an absolutely loaded roster from top to bottom...talent oozing everywhere. He would also reel in elite QB after elite QB. He has done a good job coaching at WKU, USF and even in his first season at Oregon they started 4-1 (nearly 5-0) before the QB injuries forced him to use a walk on QB. Strong is winning with Taggert's team.
Wait, this is Taggart's first season at Oregon? I was under the impression this is his second season.
What's the board look like with Kelly to UCLA/UT Frost to Nebraska Norvell to Arkansas Mullen stays at MSU/heads to UT. Stricklin not having hired a football HC is a problem imo. So we hire strong or TAGGART?
Its sad that this post was even needed, honestly wish someone would start liberally swinging the ban hammer.
