This thread has become comical on a whole new level this evening. Forget pimples, boobs and everything else that has been posted to pass the time over the last week. Tonight's meltdowns are pure gold. Here is what we know for a fact...wait for it...Florida is looking for a new coach...they have talked to Chip Kelly...and...wait for it...that's it Yet the page is in total meltdown saying SS and the UAA have failed at their job, even though we have zero idea what the actual strategy was or is, if we offered Kelly or if we didn't, if he turned us down or if he didnt. We have been "sourced" to death. The best part is each and every person on this epic thread has questioned the the sources every step of the way, but still go all Ancient Aliens and jump to conclusions when the "source" is potential bad news for the Gators. Oh, it must be that our administration is trash. Here is a crazy idea. Why dont we just, i dont know, maybe wait until the dust settles and see who we hire before we start picking out a pine box for SS's career. Now I know this is going to fall on deaf ears. That may not be a bad thing because I am completely entertained by the posts so far.
The Cal job was still open after Kelly was fired. Les has a track record. That is fact that nobody can dispute. He's proven it in the SEC. Nobody can take that away. Nobody can dispute that. It may not be the Chip Kelly hire that all of us wanted, but it's a hire that gets us back to respectability. Winning ugly is a whole hell of a lot better than losing pretty.
I'm with those who say until the PC we're holding hope that CK still happens. He really is the right guy.
Several people inside have thought this. I know someone that said this was done “last week” on Monday. This guy has a VERY good reason to know what’s going on in the building. A friend of mine - not something I read on GC. Of course I read a bunch of stuff here too. Like I said before - not getting him is ok. But having USA Today, Yahoo and everyone else putting we got passed over - it doesn’t look good. It doesn’t feel like the UF job is as desirable as we all like to think it is.
I hope we don't have people in charge that accept second. No one expects to always come out on top but if we aren't giving 100% to be the best, I don't really know what to say. 100% effort should be expected of oneself in everything you do.

I'd be very happy with Leach, but Leach doesn't strike me as a guy who wants to leave his small school.
Get it done doesn't mean hiring who the fans want. It means hiring the right guy. No one knows who that would definitely be.
Two winning seasons in five years in the Big 12? I rather have his mentor who won a lot more at the same school.
I think Charlie will do fine. Although his hiring would be a bit outdated... I think fans underestimate the quality of coach they would be hiring. 1. Ex Gator 2. Defensively minded 3. Had damn good offenses at Louisville and USF. 4. Will recruit lights out. 5. Will develop players and demand accountability from them. If we don’t land Chip or Frost... Strong is a pretty good hire.
Lets just say for a moment that Kelly got the full court press, was given everything he asked for and still didnt take the job, how is that not giving 100%?

I'm with you there. I'll believe it's done when he's announced as the UCLA hire. Until then, I have no idea what's happening and will root for Kelly to the Gators.
