There is little to prove the insiders were correct either! And the track record would lead me not to believe the insiders.
If the part of dictating which coaches stayed, that's ridiculous. Been in major organizations where a couple of the big bosses promised things without knowing about the others promises. they had to move a few dozen people to accomplish that. They looked like buffoons, hope that is not the case here. Go Gators
Because we probably haven't. This is probably just part of the negotiating. It's just reached the the end.
Right went to his Alma Mater in a weak conference. Miles would be a horrendous hire. Dude is still jobless, if he was so great, why isn't he coaching.... Anywhere? He never developed a QB, and was a terrible game clock manager. The only job I'd be happy to have him as is ST coach. Period.
His job is to get it done. Either he does or he doesn't. The only question as to putting the blame on Stricklin is does he also have the reins to do his job or is he being hindered.the pres should put him on a plane and tell him to come back with a signed contract.
On the other hand, while it looks like our chances with Chip Kelly have dwindled, I don't think we should count him out yet. I'd wait for an official word.
If all this were true, I’m not sure I could live with the fact that we potentially lost out on a coach like CK because of Randy Shannon. Maybe this is somehow part of the prophecy Randy referred to at Miami with the “more than they ever know” comment.
I agree. Frost would have to hire a badass DC to have a chance in the SEC. That's a big key to his chances for success. That's where Chip Kelly has an edge. He can pick up the phone and talk to several top DCs about coming to UF with him.
SO, let’s start planning ahead for the next search in 3 years. Can we hit 2000 pages then? I’ll bring the Chips!
It’s never over until it’s over for Kelly. Stricklin just needs to give him full control. If that doesn’t work then so be it, but we can’t handcuff an elite coach and expect him to come
