Yeah might as well go jinx us with the thread title so we are wrong there too and miss on Frost and then change it to the next one then the next one. This is why I hate rumors and people all arrogant that they know people and crap. UF fans are the main reason why we can’t get a big time coach to come here. Urban prolly told him to get the f away while he could, and justifiably so with how our fan base is. And don’t try to say every fan base that is a football school is the same way. They aren’t. We are different. We invented fireyourcoach.com. The only fan base that comes close to rivaling us and exceeds our sickness is Bama. And they have as sick of a person coaching them in Saban. They will be like us after he retires not being able to attract any elite coaches because they can go elsewhere, get paid just as much or close to it and not have to deal with the garbage. Thanks a lot fellow “fans.”
This. This . This! Kelly wanted to walk in as 2017 Saban. We were offering him 2005 Saban. When he is here for 12 years, wins 4-5 national championships without getting us in trouble with the NCAA, I say, make him 2017 Saban, The dictator. There is no one that I would give "total control" to right from the beginning. No one on this planet,
Our own insiders are saying he is asking for more and it’s not financial. He’s not asking for Sunday morning hookers...
What would anybody expect him to say? "The sky is falling, we're doomed, should never have fire Mac" Of course he's going to say everything will be fine
Unfortunately, I think all of us knew deep down that this was never going to happen. It was too good to be true. I greatly appreciate the effort from those in the know to get us info, and by all means I think it was accurate and should be respected. It sucks, but given the recent state of this program, there was no way a home run hire would just land in our lap like this. This has easily been the most dramatic coaching back and forth in CFB in my recent memory. Absolutely ridiculous the way it's happened, from both sides (if the news has been accurate). I know it's not a "no-go" yet, but it's gotten to the point where it seems highly unlikely.
I literally saw someone posit it like "maybe ..." and the next day it was just a fact. It was amazing.
