No, it wouldn't have. Part of the cause justification was the safety of players and staff. UF can't find out about it, sit on their hands for a month, and then claim cause for Mac not cooperating to ensure safety.
This makes really good sense on all sides. It fits my take that "time is up Chip" and adds that he is....wishy washy. And if that is his M.O. then we are good to go towards the next guy. Taggert seems like a hire that would pay dividends but is definitely a BIG downer to the buzz of Chip. I am just not buying into the Frost=Kelly talk. He looks the part. I prefer a longer resume. JMHO
What could he possibly be asking for? Is he asking for the same from UCLA? Are they willing to give him that and UF isn't? Yep, I know, who knows that now. Just talking out loud.
I guess we'll find out soon enough if Kelly prefers UF and the SEC. Unless Wasserman pulled out a blank check or some crazy move that he can't refuse.
Getting the snowman would be no easy feat with his alma mater opening their checkbooks for him to return.
LOL. I think UF should continue to pursue CK if he decides UCLA. Hopefully the above statement was misworded or mistyped.
I'm sorry guys, but I think it's a horrible misjudgment to think Frost would come here. I know it's my opinion, and only that. I don't have anything legitimate from the brain of Scott Frost. But I do not think he would come here. So if it's not Kelly, we need to (IMO) look at the next coach outside of Frost. Who would you pick? Don't say Kiffin, the man is a clown
This will be three straight hires where the "insiders" have been operating in the dark. The days of people having reliable insider info is a relic. It's just too locked down now.
Pretty clear you don't understand my logic. The two biggest stages are the NFL and an elite college program. Lame Kitten failed on BOTH STAGES. You can fail on the NFL stage and be a successful college coach. You can't fail on both stages and expect anyone to believe you're going to suddenly succeed as the college coach of a major college program. The excuses need to stop. He's a failure. You might as well go hire Muschamp. I bet his "upside" is high too. One of the best offensive minds in college or the pros? Nope. I might as well sit here and make the same excuses for Charlie Strong. However, I don't want a washout. Hell, Lame Kitten even washed out from the Bama OC job. Saban pushed him out. I don't want Taggart, but he's a much better Xs and Os coach than you give him credit for being. No, we want winning. I am happy to have a mediocre offense if we're winning 10-13 games per year. We agree here, but I still call Gundy and get a no. I wouldn't cry if Sumlin were the guy. But I think Les Miles is a better coach.
Missouri's coach has done an incredible job. Not sure on him long term though. Not enough history it's more risky than other names for sure. Sumlin is a story of being too successful, and then expectations becoming reality. He made Aggies a very good program, and then it turned back on him because he couldn't get over the top. Similar to Richt at Georgia. I don't know if he is elite. I just think he could be. He has had crazy QB issues that are concerning though with all the QB's leaving. Who knows...I'd take him over Tagg or Strong for sure though.
