Notice you said "rumor". How on earth would we know, or even an insider know, if UAA would have required that. I doubt it happened but it could have. We need to wait and be patient before we start blaming UAA for "blowing it" when that hasn't happened(yet) and that it could turn out we hire a better coach for UF in the long run anyway.

Got you brother. Appreciate all the input you’ve been sharing. If they spent all that money vetting his assistants we can probably assume that was part of the issue. UCLA probably didn’t go through that process. They probably figure people learn from their mistakes. All good. Gator nation will survive. Short of getting Frost this was a screwup of epic proportions if true to have the President at that meeting with him. You never do that short of a truly done deal. We would be laughing our buts off at our rivals if this happened to them.

 

My biggest reservation about Kelly was how bad of a decision maker he is and his integrity. He might be a great X's and O's guy but he has backed out of deals with both Tampa Bay and Philadelphia (ultimately went there but backed out first).

 

He probably is waiting to see what Arizona State does...
