Wouldn't such contact conflict with the whole story (widely accepted by same posters) about the SF contract?
Exactly. I'm not going to believe any of this until I watch the UCLA AD officially introduce Chip Kelly in person as their new coach. This article is only speculating about Kelly, not confirming it. Kelly is the one who initiated contact with UF first, tossing his hat into the ring when we were originally beginning the contact process with Frost. "IF" this UCLA stuff if true, "IF", this would be an SOB move of epic proportions by Kelly that probably cost us Frost. That said, I still cannot believe we sent our University President, AD, and rest of our closer team to NH with a contract just to have Kelly tell them "I'm shopping around instead". He could have called them and told them that he was shopping around before they flew up there... and you know damn well they called him before making that trip. I'm not believing anything else until I see it with my own eyes.
Frost isn’t coming to Florida....looks like Kelly isn’t either....if so Mullen would be the fall back but if his wife says no then he is out. Scratch Campbell due to his buyout. No to Charlie Strong due to what happened at Texas. So it’s either Mike Norvell (yuck) or Taggert (yuckier). Modern day Florida football my friends. Hope I’m wrong.
We aren’t the program we were . People don’t get that . This will be round 3 of prob getting our 3rd choice. So say what you want that’s not a Top 5 prgogram at this point
I'm ok with Taggart. I view him as a better hire than Zook, Mac, or even Muschamp. I'd prefer Frost or Kelly, but we don't control the universe. We take the best option...and one that WANTS to coach here.
You know what UCLA offer, not being in the SEC. If this is true it says a lot about Kelly and wanting to face some adversity
I really hope we don't hit with a double whammy against us. The UF program could come out smelling like rose with Kelly. But I fear the possibility that Kelly doesn't come, and then Frost passes on Nebraska, and UF, and stays at UCF. To me that would be a real blow to our perception that we are still a top coach destination.
