If there is to be an announcement, there will likely be a prior tell ... perhaps even a tease (twitter, another vague emoji, etc) ... to lather up the media. Expect it to still be cryptic but its appearance alone (Sat? Sun a.m.?) will be telling.

I almost feel bad for him, to be so connected for so long to now be not connected has to hurt. If he would just do away with the high and mighty attitude....
Hi Everyone, I'm a long time lurker, just wanted to jump in and show my appreciation for this epic thread. Regardless of what the end result may be, I think the information provided by Tilly, Bentrill, and a few others have been amazing. Their info about Chip Kelly being our coach just makes sense. Doesn't mean it will not fall through for one reason or another but there is no doubt that Chip Kelly is ours to lose based on all the information that is available. Also, it is sad to see how self deprecating some of my fellow Gators are acting toward our program. I get that we have fallen in hard time but we're still the Florida Gators. All of the advantages that we had 13? years ago when Urban Meyer picked UF over his dream job is still true. Florida is still a top tier football program with tradition, money, support, location, and sporting environment. We may lose a candidate due to certain intangibles but we are still one of the top 10 coaching gig for anyone that wants to compete at the highest level against other giants.
Oh, come on. Nobody is being sanctimonious. Like I said, we've all had our fun in this thread. I've probably posted as many off-topic and goofball posts as anyone here. But the fact that as a practical matter we've turned it into a free-for-all doesn't change the underlying and penultimate fact that it's a thread on a Gators message board, and it's supposed to be about the ongoing Chip Kelly saga. So when a Mod tries to dial the mayhem down a notch, maybe he's being a party pooper but honestly, there's really no legitimate basis for pushing back on that.
This x 1 billion! There have been 3 or 4 threads started trying to be the "official news only" threads. They have dropped out into oblivion (ie, page 2). This thread is JUST one thread. Read that again... one thread. It takes up 1/4 of an inch on my scroll. I have to scroll through 5 inches of pinned threads that no one cares about to see anything new. What is 1/4 of an inch more? But to get off my soap box, since I am at heart a problem solver, what I would suggest is that rather than shut down the fun here in this 1 small thread, if someone has REAL news post it in one of the serious threads too. I have literally seen over 2 dozen people post that they were long time lurkers who signed up JUST to be a part of this historical thread. That can not be a bad thing.
