The closest I ever came to being served a meal by nekkid wimmins in public was at Rachel's in Casselberry (the servers were partially clad in the dining room). Best damn ribeye I've ever had.
I think the kids are good too. I hope they're learning something useful, I've always felt like I wish they were doing something more meaningful but maybe you see something else that I haven't. I don't blame the staff for the lines but the popularity of the place. I go to LA all the time and try to get an in n out burger one night of the trip to save some per diem but also just because I like the burgers.
No way can or will UCLA offer Kelly more money than UF. Heard on a podcast today that our football program brings in something like $148 million in revenue vs. UCLA at $100 and profit from UF football is $46 million vs. UCLA $7 million. Stricklin is not a cheap skate like Foley. He will not get outbid for Kelly by a leaser program. UCLA is a basketball school first. There facilities are outdated worse than ours and their football program is not on par with ours. If Kelly choses UCLA its not because they will offer more money because they can’t and won’t.
No problem man, I'm an objective person so I honestly get why people may be on the side of skepticism. Which is why I have fun in the way I react. I also said a while back that I would never post anything out of certainty if I wasn't certain, and would state otherwise. My POV is the same as yours, some opt to trust every other source BUT the ones here. I don't think people understand how much free inside info they're privy to in this post. Considering the circumstance, I'll never out why or who has me feeling so certain. With that being the case, I understand why some one or 5 or 6 people wouldn't have reason to believe anything I say. When Foley was around I literally had zilch (i.e. the Mac hire - I said not one word), not the case on this one. But I'm willing to take it on the chin until the powers that be break the news. In all kinds of weather! #GoGatah
Its 1230AM though and people probably dont want to read 20 pages. I know I dont. Im just skimming through the last 2-3 pages trying to find something relevant to the ucla stuff
There are 5 future stars out there right now. None of them named Strong or Mullen. The tough part is hitting the right one. Much better options this go around. And by the way Mullen is a huge upgrade from where we were previously.
Boards like these and others, as well as sports journalists who make a living off churning conversation and getting responses, have absolutely no culpability in the Kelly hype. And Stricklin can dictate all of that. Riiiight... Short of Sticklin getting added as a mod here and half a dozen other places (and Facebook and Twitter), the moment that someone said there was interest, this all went exactly where it was going. We don't live in a world with a handful of news outlets, a score of reporters, and the only feedback are callins and letters to the editor where a powerful AD can completely control the story. That was over at least a decade ago. Short of just trolling, controlling a narrative when you necessarily have to keep most of what is going on off the record while the narrative is being created is impossible today. Everyone on this board has the ability to consume, create, and curate content on the web, and boy have we. No one whipped any of this up except us. Welcome to the Internet and social media. It's called confirmation bias, and we want Chip. And everything from any source, no matter how dubious, gets hyped to the nth degree to feed the desire we have to believe it is happening. I've watched tweets from people no one has ever heard of get posted here and get quoted on other boards as the gospel truth. I've seen it go the other way too. If you think you know how to expunge such irrationality from an emotionally-invested population when it comes to their information sharing habits and their credulity, you should start a consulting company because you'll be a rich, rich person. As for Stricklin, he's an AD, not the head of the Stasi. The hype train has gone exactly where it was going to go in a year where Kelly was available and interested in coming back to college and the hire wasn't coming until the season ended. It was unavoidable and will only end when someone is hired. And I'm good with it. However, saying Sticklin should be fired because social media is a ridiculous place is a bit over the top.
You say that jokingly but man, if Florida misses on Chip and Frost, I'm not sure there is a person on earth who will have an uglier day of mentions on Twitter than Scott Stricklin.
Those items stolen in China were actually to help raise funds for new football facilities, rumor has it.
I think everybody needs to take a step back. When people who's entire job quite literally is to be an "insider" and charge money for their knowledge haven't backed away and are holding firm its worth something. I'm waiting, but got my pitchfork ready
Apparently UCLA has a sparkling new football facility...so our outdated infrastructure (thanks Foley) could help cost us another recruit.
I’m a Bull as well as a Gator so I’ll say this as my take on Willie T: USF fans love him for how he turned us around bringing us out of the dredges of where we were. And I agree he did amazing things. BUT as amazing as that offense was, that defense was atrocious. Seems to be a similar story in Oregon. I’d pull for him no doubt if he came but that would be a serious concern of mine to be on the lookout for. EDIT: Also wanted to note something else positive for him. He instituted the 3 yards and a cloud of dust Stanford offense when he first arrived. Didn’t go well that first year. He recognized it and changed the offense completely to match the talent. I know that shrewd thinking isn’t something we’ve been privy to from our offensive leaders in quite some time. Willie T got that one right at USF.
