The Simpsons episode where the family goes out for sushi and Homer eats a potentially fatal serving of pufferfish is worth finding.
Dan Hicken on 1010xl just did a "breaking news" alert that said Chip Kelly will be Mr. 2 bits for the FSU game this weekend. I went "HUH?" Just kidding. Got me. They're talking about the coaching search now and having fun with it like we are. Prosser just gave an 80% and Hicken and Beef gave a 75% chance of CK to UF. I hope they're right!!!
Now the ad is for Purchasing Power. Which is really odd, since it’s not offered at my employer. I mean, if it were guns, boobs, or midget porn, that would at least be something I could explain.
I listen to those guys every morning at work. Just not this week, since I’m on vacation. Lol. I can’t believe they stopped fawning over the Jags long enough to talk about something else.
SIAP... The thread is getting somewhat threadbare. Stinky fruit and wanting to re-up a topic (bikini pics) is not going to last very long. We need some real meat to consume. How about Thanksgiving/Chridtmas traditions, irritations, and funny stories? The Home Depot story, while epic, can't be the standard. We just don't all have that skill. So let me try to at least begin. I have one mantra when it comes to the holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas.....CHOOSE ONE. I enjoy getting together with family members I haven't spent real time with once in a while but to do it in late November and then turn around and do the EXACT SAME THING one month later tries my patience. My kid is a true joy and when we get together it is always a treat (she lives about 2 hours away). But when we begin to get together weekly several times in a row we begin to look at each other and say...didn't I just see you? The magic begins to fade away. And that is someone who is SO much like me in a good way. Familiarity can breed contempt. So when we are talking about people who are "pleasant" but not truly connecting....two times in a 30 day period??? So, it seems to me that if you are an introvert you want to connect...but not too much as it drains your emotional battery and if you are an extrovert you probably enjoy draining others' batteries (you ARE the crazy uncle/aunt). And that includes the choices of "food" that people want to "share" with others they claim to love. Probably saw something in the back of the frig that was dying and needed to find some rubes who would get rid of it. I am always amazed at how some of us don't realize how bad of a cook we are. And being one of the "older persons" on the forum, silly gift giving has GOT to stop! I don't need another stinking pot holder or lame plastic figurine from the Hallmark store. There are two things you can give as a gift. One is a piece of yourself that is cherished by that person or you can give something that a person truly desires but thinks it inappropriate to buy for themselves. The rest is a bunch of retailers trying to shovel the s__t we make for whatever inane reason. Yes, children are precious and we regale in their joy and so feeding that is fine....but...to...a...limit. What every one of us craves is to be loved and that means to be seen and appreciated for whom we are designed. Stuff is NOT love. And to that, chaos is NOT love but if you are an extrovert that probably does not apply. So perhaps we could start a tradition to stop "doing stuff" and/or stop buying junk and just commune with each other and embrace each other as the people God intends us to be. Just on one of the two days.....
Nah, I'm sure the whole thing boils down to one thing. $$$$$$. Either how much he makes or how much we save.
I'll be there. First home game I'll get to this year. Although I did get to witness the near disaster in Lexington.
Well, good morning. Just finished catching up on the overnight posts. For those too lazy to read them all and looking for a summary - essentially a regurgitation of yesterday’s discussions. Excellent job by the night crew to keep the thread moving whilst we await the big reveal Saturday evening.
