I was listening to the Gator Nation podcast this morning (highly recommended, btw) and they had Caleb Sturgis on as a guest c0-host. They were talking about how Dennis Dixon was considered kind of a bust before Chip was hired as OC, and he became a Heisman contender the very next year. Felipe would be wise to stick it out I think.

Caleb also discussed Chip's personality very positively while HC of the Eagles and listed Chip as his #1 choice. It made me even more excited for the hire.

 

Still surprised there's not more leakage on the twitters, interwebs and what not. Stitland has done a great job of controlling the flow of information if UAA announces this today.

 

I've got ESPN on now and they're talking about basketball. They don't even know what's fixing to happen.

So 20 pages after I last saw this thread at 6am today....things sound more promising but alas no legit proof. This better happen at some point or I am going to be sad.

 

It might also be that Kelly is in Gainesville and UF is flying him up to Bristol to make announcement himself. Is he on the CFP announcement show? If not, he might be a surprise guest tonight.

 

Anyone know the guy on WRUF at 12-2 man he’s a jerk. He’s ripping fans about wanting Chip Kelly. I’ll never understand the local radio guys putting down fans.

 

I'm thinking they're crushed because they don't have a relationship with him like they do Mullen, Strong, etc. They will have to work harder if CK is hired

Fair enough. I'm not an expert but based on what Kelly said in the interview with Meyer, his QB has to wait until the very last second to make the pitch for it to work, which means he's likely to take a big hit from a DE on the plays he doesn't run the ball too.

 

Franks cant execute a zone read, concept will be completely foreign to him. Riding that ball fake which sets up Chip's scheme and tricks, is something that takes a lot of reps, also I don't trust Franks to run a read based offense. He's not mentally strong enough (trying to be as nice as possible)
