How well do you think Corral fits his scheme? My thinking is that he's a very good fit, decisive, quick feet, gets the ball away quickly.

For real. Corral is small and not likely to stay healthy in SEC running any O much less a spread where he's running a significant part of the time. Whoever is coach, they better have a few QB's ready to play if they are running any kind of spread concepts in SEC.

He reminds me, physically of Darron thomas, the QB who Chip had that he went to the title game with. Thomas was a good runner, but he wasn't in Mariota's class.

It wouldn't shock me if we got Chip and he started looking at James Foster or Jarren Williams who's are both duel threat QBs who's currently not committed anywhere. Gotta start looking at the possibility of us bringing in a second QB because i believe we'll only return Franks and Allen. I think Trask will transfer as feel he has no shot at the job regardless of who's the HC

That spread offense phrase you used not sure you understand what it means

A spread offense is the idea of making the defense cover the entire field. Every NFL offense has spread concepts in it.

I think what you mean is Chip didn't run a breakneck tempo in the NFL. He absolutely had similar concepts to his Oregon scheme. The inside, outside, sweep, and even triple option reads were all still there, you just saw less of it due to his personal.

Spread offense isn't an encompassing term, it's a concept used in offense. Chips scheme is predicated on inside and outside 1 man zone reads, and 2 man RPOs. The reason these concepts aren't as successful in the NFL is a lot of times the guy you are reading is capable of making both plays. In college it stresses a defense a lot more. Chips scheme and philosophy is to be predictable by design, and get the defense to load up to stop a certain play they know is coming. Often you will see looking back that Kelly tipped the outside or inside zone reads, this was to get the defense to over commit and he burned them big time when the did. Its why you see a QB pull it on a read option and go 70 yards untouched, or a play action where a guy catches a 15 yard seam throw and takes it the distance.

His scheme and tempo causes the defense to make choices, when they choose wrong it usually ends in a huge chunk play. What I love about a Kelly offense is often times one play call can have 3 or 4 separate outcomes based on how the defense aligns.
