If I believed Frost would coach the Gators for 20 years or so, I’d prefer the chance on Frost... Otherwise... Kelly should be a preferred option... Sign me up for 10 years of Kelly... I think we should all be comfortable with that.
Yeah, nobody denied that it happened. But it's been way overblown on these boards and is not a factor.
Please please please......did I say please? Please be correct!!!!! I've got dinner reservations at 7pm tonight so before 630pm tonight, after 9pm but before 11pm tonight, or most of the day Sunday works for me as far as announcement times.
...20 years? Geeez. Spurrier didn't stay 20 years. I'll take 6 years with a handful of SEC Championships (not only East Titles), and possibly a Natty. Oh. And to Mud Stomp Georgia and FSU.
Kelly would be a home run hire. Frost would be a triple. BOTH are much better hires than Zook, Mac or Muschamp
20 years? You don’t want any coach for 20 years these days. They get old and stubborn and refuse to change when their system gets figured out. The best you can hope for is a good 8-12 year run. As for Kelly if he can give us 4-6 fun years I’ll take it.
I wonder how Chip feels about our facilities, after having coached at Oregon. I’m sure those will get a nice kick in the *** if he’s hired.
Fair enough... I’ll take that, too. But I think some coaches are just that good. If they can adjust accordingly... then you can have a 20 year coach... I’ll admit Frost hasn’t proven the ability to do that. I just don’t think that teams sustain long-term success by constantly having coaching turnover... that eventually bites teams in the ***... Last time Alabama was no good was without Saban... who knows just how they’ll be after he’s gone... In the big picture some programs will always have advantages, but the recognition as elite is separated by quality of coaches... There’s not many elite coaches out there... I believe it’s possible, just rare to have an elite coach for a really long time...
[quote We know KELLY is a winner at a high-level and college football and he is my first choice. Frost may have longer upside but has not proven it on a national stage and there is no guarantee he stays with us any longer than Kelley. Happy with either.[/quote] No. Kelly will bring an unethical attitude to the team. Why would we want to even deal with that.
Just had to quote this post from gator_lawyer because it was so spot on. Chip Kelly puts us in the NC conversation by 2019. It is negligent not to do everything within our power to hire him.
Haha I'll go with Kelly is a grand slam hire. Stoops would be a home run. And Frost is a stand up double.
Are you saying this because of a minor recruiting violation? You do know that he was charged with "failure to monitor" not any direct involvement, right? If you have more, please share. Otherwise, your statement that what he did means he is unalterably and intrinsically unethical is pure hyperbole.
My guess is the guy is from a rival and scared of Kelley, and only from that perspective does his post make sense.
